Work with a much younger fella than me, he has a 2008 R6 that he bought new, rarely to never rides and is pretty intimidated by it. I told him to hold on to it for a bit longer and make me a smoking deal, cause I WANT IT!!!! Of course I have genuinley offered to store it in my garage for him until that time comes.
Drool!!!!!

Do the dishes, laundry, vacuuming, windows, mopping for a month. That should seal the deal with her.

Get her a maid.

Get her a maid.
We kinda have that already, at least every 2 weeks. I would never get to live this down, she needs to understand that I need a bike for every riding mood that I am in. House will be paid for at the beginning of 2015, not sure he is willing to hang on to it for that much longer. I need a good plan to get this much earlier, man would I hate to lose out on getting this.

BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I just don't understand you having to ask your wife to buy a motorcycle that you want. It doesn't make sense.
I have to beg mine. ;)
-
you poor guys. My wife and I have budgets for our hobbies. If the money is there we can spend it without consulting with each other. If the money isn't there and we really want it then we have to discuss with each other the possibility of borrowing from one of our other budgets.
I am saving right now with hopes that Kawasaki finally brings in the W800 next year. Because of that, I am not looking at used bikes at all. Because when i start looking there is always something I am interested in. lol!

The phrase 'woman know your place ' works for me.....................not ;D
-
Buy it and beg for forgiveness! That is the only logical answer.

Money is not an issue, but my wife's hobbies and what she loves are not nearly as expensive as mine.....hence why I get crap for it. I am far from suffering, I tend to get what I want eventually, just have to do it in a way that doesn't cause too much animosity between us. Wife is my best buddy, she and I have a great thing going on 20 years now. :)

Put your knee pads on and groval like a real man. ;)

Gotta do something with that back seat, once she see's that she will always have a picture of some young hottie perched up high. Do that and I would say ya have a shot

Having the money may not be an issue, but it sounds like spending it could be an issue. Sometimes if I am not sure of a purchase I will bounce it off my wife. When I was thinking Versys she pointed out that it was half way between the KLR650 and Ninja 650. I agreed and sold both of those after I bought the Versys. The only reason I have the Voyager is to ride her around comfortably since I do want to involve her in my passion. She in turn has an older very trained and tame horse that will take care of its rider. He is what I ride on the occasions that I ride.
Sounds like you might want to have a discussion with her. If the bike is a good deal you know you can sell it with little cost of ownership.

We have discussed it, and then she gave me "the look". We shall see what happens, if this one doesn't pan out there are others. I also like the 2007 CBR and 2008 Gixxer, they are all speaking to me as a 3rd bike option. 8)

If I brought my wife flowers she would make my male parts hurt :o
I say you do the groveling like a man thing, if that fails pout until she relents, once she relents bounce around like a little puppy ;D If all of those things fail send me the owners info so I can buy it 8)

I'm glad that you saw it early this morning instead of yesterday Jim. :)

It better be a smoking hot deal:). The sale of 600cc sport bikes has fallen in the basement over the last couple of years. The articles I read suggest they are currently the worse selling bike in the big 4 line ups.

Don't forget the Cherohala Skyway, Foothills parkway, 441 over to Cherokee, the south part of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I just completed riding the Blue Ridge Parkway from south to north. Great ride.

Oh yeah I have ridden all those, and I will be back down there in 2 weeks to hit anything I miss on this trip. ;) Worth going down just to ride the Cherohala a few times.

That trip came and went, but the man trip back down to that same area starts again this Saturday. Yeah many guys I talk to say the R6 is usually always the best track weapon of the 600 series, I actually would prefer a CBR if that were an option. Considering I just aquired a new to me bike, I don't see the R6 happening anytime soon.

If you are going on the V-strom, I recommend riding the dirt cherohala skyway.

If my buddy was not on an ST1100, I would be all over that. Thanks for the suggestion though, I will for sure be doing that.
