FYI
he hasn't been around here since may 2013...

oh, btw, howdy neighbor...
I'm up in Lake County ;)  :chugbeer:

if you're looking for a hitch, I recommend these folks

the only one I can recommend... Stay away from Bushtec, they are a p.o.s. to mount...

Nice hitch, MOB, but this line caught my eye; "KAWASAKI 1400 CC Concours 2008
and later HITCH IS BLACK POWDER COATED. ONLY WORKS WITH ORIGINAL SIZE TIRE"
Since I had ordered a few 'oversized' rear's, I'd look into this further prior to ordering..

Good news! I bought the hitch from him and installed it over the weekend. It's a classic industries hitch from Australia. The one I wanted was Denray but they are back ordered through at least the end of August.

There were no directions and most of the bolts were missing. Had to drill out four bolt holes and notch out some of the painted plastic. That was hard to do since the bike was less than a day old... It's on there now and doesn't look too bad. The Denray looks better but this one will be easier to take on and off. The classic industries takes four bolts to remove that you can easily get to and the Denray takes six bolts to remove and four of them aren't easy to get to.

Could you post some pics of the install?

Does the Denray one have a ball, or a receiver hitch? I loved the hitch on my 'Wing. I had a platform I carried luggage or a cooler on.

Here are some pics and I'm trying to get a pic from a friend that has the Denray. The Denray has a ball.

I don't think there were any issues with the Custom Cruisers hitch, another member has one, and also the rear fender extender, and there is plenty of clearance....(I have to dig up  his link / info, and I'll post it)

I went and searched, it was Kawacop1642 that had it, but even though he says it was custom cruisers, it is clearly the Denray manufactured product... seen here

here's my install, as I note, the  Bushtec is a p.i.t.a. to install, and was very inaccuratly manufactured, forcing me to cut it apart, and re-weld it up to make it fit.

Hey MOB,
We both live in Akron. I sent an email to you last week but it must not have gone through. She runs the Akron Cleveland Sport Touring meetup on meetup.com. Here is the link for that http://www.meetup.com/Akron-Cleveland-Sport-Touring/ (http://www.meetup.com/Akron-Cleveland-Sport-Touring/) It's free to sign up and you can turn off the notifications if you'd like. We ride all the time. We went to Salt Fork Saturday and rode with the Central Ohio Riders (Columbus group) from meetup to Hocking Hills yesterday. There were 4 Connies yesterday!

Here is a pic of her set up and yes she has turned the carrier around to the correct way. lol My trailer is still on order but due to arrive shortly. I'll try to send another email with my contact information, we should ride soon.
