Nice thread!  "Pass" may limit the mountain range to a small area. We don;t have passes in Appalachia, I haven't seen any far west either but only rode out there a few times. Just C14 at a mountain may allow for more pics.  But I'll play, I been there =)

Its a big deal for us in FL to see snow. especially in July as I saw in the Rockies!  ;D

I changed it to mountain pass or summit. I know there are plenty of Appalachia summits. Nice pic at Loveland pass. I've been over many of the passes in the Rockies (including Loveland many times) but only have one pick of my C14 with the pass sign. I hope to get a bunch this summer. Will also be looking for opportunities to get pics with non-chain restaurants. ;D

It probably is.  Of course one reason there are more is because black is available every year.  The "other" single color of each year is only available that one and only one year.

Mt Washington N.H.

Did some riding in NH in 09. Did the Kancamangus and loved it. In fact I liked it so much I went over it, turned around, went over the other direction, turned around again and continued my ride. Wish I had gone further north and wend up Mt Washington. Nice!

I'm late to the party, and don't even own the Concours anymore, but it has been to the Rockies twice and Smokys once.

Hey 4ceders, mt.Evans is special, great pics.

Thanks blanton.

As you can see by the altimeter I had about 1000 vertical feet to go when the hail came. I didn't dare turn and look at my father, knowing he would have wanted to turn around. So I kept going with him and the Harley following closely.

As you can imagine I had an earful when we did reach the summit :o.

But the funny thing is, now, thats all he talks about when that trip comes up in conversation.

That fog bank came as we were descending. I watched it roll down the mountain like some kind of horror movie. When we finally met up with it visibility went to barely able to see the white line on the edge of the road.

I thought it was a perfect way to experience the mountain  :yikes:

On the south side of Beartooth pass in Montana / Wyoming, June 2011. Almost 11,000 feet altitude (I think it was 10,993- really, couldn't they do a little work with a bulldozer and make it an even 11,000 feet?)

The pass had only been open two weeks and there was still 15 feet of snow on the side of the road.

Agreed- a fantastic trip, along with a ride through the top of Yellowstone park on the way; icing on the cake. I went through the pass alone but planned on taking my wife through it during the National in Idaho this year.

Another photo from the same ride, looking back over the switchbacks down into Montana:

Charles Kuralt called it 'the most beautiful drive in America' and I certainly wouldn't argue.

At Tioga Pass. Eastern entrance to Yosemite. 9943 ft. The booth in the back is the summit. I know, my headlight is out! Fixed it.

Love that green Vaquero.  Could bring myself to buy it though.  Too close to the Voyager and I need the passenger comfort for the mrs.
Green is my brothers favorite color. He couldn't pass it up. He did, however, convert his saddle to a two up saddle with a quick release back rest and top case shelf for the MRS. Actually when he's fully dressed it looks like a Voyager (only really green). he enjoys taking off the accessories and going solo which was the way the Vaquero was intended to be ridden.

Low challenge but high payoff.  It will be ridden by me again.  Next time I do the trip I will take my time, no deadlines or commitments on either end.  Still bummed we didn't get the opportunity to meet up.

White was never a factory colour. If I ever do a repaint it will be white.

x2 (drooling)

Well crap.

Kawasaki seems to favor darker colors for the C14.

Maybe for the same reason people think black makes them look skinny  ;D

If I was JAY, I'd just buy a 4th set of plastics (5th? 6th? what's he on now??) and have 'em painted.

(I should mention, I still don't even own a C14 :-[ ... yet ... but am looking feverishly ... and need to sell my RC51; too damn uncomfortable; nowhere to put things; can't ride a passenger. Well, no passenger wants to ride on it, and I don't blame them  :))

Geez... I've really been ignoring you, and I apologize. Is 23 months too long to respond?  :o

Painted my black '11 in Spring of '12. Supposed to be matte white, but the hack painted it with a single-stage flat that cannot be cleaned. Even a scrub brush can't get road grime off the lowers behind the front wheel. Someday it'll get re-done in the proper way... but it still looks decent from 20 feet away... and the dirt makes it only MILDLY slower.

This thread makes me need a road trip.

Have that same tail pack.  Used it on my ninja 650 and my other day bikes.  Love how it doubles in size when you have to shed layers.

It is a great tail pack. We started with it not expanded, but after trying to stuff things into it, I expanded it and it was so much easier. I don't think my wife had seen to expanded.

I need to get a new rain cover for it. Mine blew off somewhere in Ohio one day. Now I just put a trash bag inside. The bag itself does a decent job keeping water out, but the rain cover helps a lot.

Probably a circus motorcycle trailer where a monkey on a smaller bike rides out of the trailer towing a smaller trailer.... and then an even smaller monkey.... well, you get the idea.

But yep, that certainly is a large motorcycle trailer.

We visited our friends over there in Oxford in Sept '14 ... first time in NZ ... and loved it. No time to ride on that trip, but would love to go back and do a riding trip. Not C14's, but we saw these 2 riders ... Ducati Monster and MV Augusta (Brutale 1078RR, I think) ... here at Arthur's Pass (on our way toward Greymouth):

Oh they would alright!  I stopped at that cafe when I went through last (I was starving), saw the keas hanging around and decided to keep on going.  Years and years ago my Dad had a bike seat eaten...They destroy vehicles quite regularly...

This guy liked Farmbake fruit & oat cookies...

Not that I'm complaining on the early summer like weather in the Seattle area, but made it up the North Cascades highway to Diablo lake. Going to see if I can get to St Helens while that big shiny thing in the sky lasts soon.

I cannot confirm or deny that on a VERY cold day, I've had my 7AC above 15,000' over the top of Pikes Peak without O2.

What's a 7AC?

And I thought Pike's Peak is about 14.2k?   Did you go a different way?   I'm not sure I would wanna do 15k, 14.2k was cold and windy enough and the bike ran pretty poorly.
