Looking for 46 liter. Probably buy PhilsFarkles rack as my brother says with a bag mounted on a stock rack is that of a bobblehead doll.
What do you have, what did you pay, what do you like, what do you hate?
Thanks!

I've got the kawi one. It was EXPENSIVE! You have to buy the base, plus the plastic top cover that matches your bike. Probably cost me about $400. I like it though. I really wish it was keyed the same as my side bags!

I have a Givi V46 mounted on a rack from Phil. Solid as a rock, and works like a charm.

Shad 46 with painted matching cover from Murph's. Shad about $250 and painted cover around $80. No dislikes.

Since when did $400 for a paint matched trunk become veiwed as "EXPENSIVE"? (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/confused1.gif)(http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/smiley_dunno.gif)
+1 one the "keyed" comment though... :chugbeer:

I have a 55 givi. I used the givi rack. Very solid. I cant imagine the smaller one would not be the same. My girlfriend feels secure be aware that at speed they can affect your air flow.

I have the Givi V46 Tech case with Phyls rack great combo.
-
I bought a Givi E52 Maxia off ebay for $150 from a scooter shop that was closing. I love it, high quality and I got it dirt cheap IMO.

+1 GIVI rack and my 5 and I can haul firewoord or concrete block. Rack bolts under the subframe
If I had it to do over again I'd have ordered Phil's rack brcause he's a forum brutha tho and I know his is beyond awesome too (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/avatars/readfacts.gif)

I have used a Sears top box for my last 2 C-14s by mounting it the hard way. I am in the process of buyinfg a Phils rack right now for my 3rd C-14. I wish I did this a long time ago.

In general terms, the Givi monoKEY trunks will mount directly to an after-market rack using 3 small fixtures, really neat system. I have a Shad 50 from Murph's, It holds two modular helmets , however, it and all other brand trunks will require a universal mounting plate. The Kawasaki trunks also need the mounting plate. If you want a color matched panel you are limited in your choices. I just had some panels hydro-graphic covered in faux carbon-fiber and love the look, you might consider that instead of color matching.

I sold my Givi . It drove me nuts having to find the key or leave the key in it to access it.
I like my Shad55. No key required if you dont feel the need. I was able to get a spare mounting (base) plate from Murph to mount on Phil's rack.
Color matching would be the way to go if you care about the looks. I never ride with the saddle bags or trunk unless it is a long trip so looks was not a consideration.

Same set-up for me, came with the bike. Stable at speed loaded, unloaded and even slightly overloaded, YMMV. +1 on the key.

If I get a Givi MonoKey 46 (I have a 52L Maxia on on my as unsold C10, it's gonna stay as a selling point) and spent $20, Phil mounts a SW Motech dealio and a Givi just drops right on there. So it's $250 for the Givi 46 and $140 +$20 for the Phil's rack and $25 for the T bolts (I have no idea if they are worth it, but my brother likes them on his "matches mine" 2012. Actually mine matches his as he had his first). Then I am done, if I am reading all this right.
The 52L on the C10 is nuts, it's beyond handy. I am a little concerned that going to a 46 will limit me a bit. But one concern I have is that the 52L on the C10 was BIG (and hence handy) but it mounted kinda low. One thing I have noticed about the top trunks on these C14's is that they are crazy high and weight high and rearward is a handling no no, but I guess if I wanna travel 2 up, I will need it, so here goes... I had softbags and tankbags on lesser bikes I toured on in the past and there is nothing like lockable and rainproof storage that that won't get in your rear wheel at 80 mph. The skidmark was .1 mile long, I mean the skidmark in the ROAD. Rode it home with a seriously flat spottted rear tire after help extricating the bag from a high school kid in a Mustang who saw the whole thing and couldn't stop saying "DUDE!". I must admit to "dude!"ing him right back. I lost the bags, the tire and a rain suit in the bag but no flesh, I call that good. It was touch and go when the rear tire stepped out a foot left and then a foot right at 80. I remember when it happened thinking "I am SO glad I am ATGATT right now" as time did that slow down thing.
Is my plan off? Am I missing something? Also, where should I buy the Givi Monokey 46? I found one on Amazon (not sayin Amazon is crack, but I have never seen Amazon and crack at the same time?).

Thanks for the input, it is appreciated!!

Givi E55 NT ( Like the flat black and clear lenses ) Backrest Pad and Givi Rack ( PITA to install ). Also went with the Admore light Kit.

Shad 42L from Murph, migrated from my C10 to my C14 in 07, holding up fine. Plate system that came with it fit the original, and the warrentied replacement platforms without modification, simply big fender washers and picking the correct hole pattern.
Frugal.

I'm enjoying my E55 ($328 from Competitions Accessories) with P-rack (see the man!). It will serve me well starting this summer. 8)

That looks real nice!
Is that how it came? Did you have to paint it?
-
Joel, that's the E55NT. It comes that way - gloss black side and flat black top. I don't really care for the silver panel on the back end. Once it warms up, it'll become gloss black.
-
I just ordered a Phils rack for my Sears box. If they don't work well together I might need to add this instead.
-
You should be a salesman. lol. I just ordered one.

FWIW I just saw this Kawi 47 listed on ebay for only $200...

The Kaw thing is nice, but you have to buy the case itself (I think that's what you posted, ZG) and then buy a top cover that's color matched, making the whole deal a bit north of $350? My brother got that but he's made of money.
That is a great price for the case though, I don't recall but I have seen them for way more, maybe $275? And that comes with a back pad, which I know at least for the Givi, you have to buy separate.

The one I just posted the ebay link to looks to include the 47 liter case, the painted Kawi badged lid cover, the backrest, and the mounting plate, good deal for $200 IMO...

Looks like a good deal. I am sold on how good the E55NT looks on the black bike. I was on the Kawi accessories section earlier and just didn't like the way things were priced and scrambled up.
The one you are showing looks like the whole set up.

That's nearly $400 worth of stuff for $200. Heck of a deal.
