So I know that when I manually apply the rear brakes the front brakes apply on their own. Will the rear brakes apply when I only manually pull the front brake lever? I ask because the rear brakes don't "feel" like their linked when I just pull the front brake lever.
-
Yes. When you apply the front, the rear is also being applied. Now to what extent, that will be determined by which breaking mode you're in. Read in your owners manual on the two different modes.

Thanks for the reply. I do know what the two modes do. I can just apply the front brakes sooooo much smoother than when I apply both brakes at the same time. When I just do the back brakes or both front and back at the same the brakes are very grabby. When I just do the front it's perfect but was wondering if the back brakes were working because I was not getting the grabby feeling.

So I did a little experiment a couple of days ago. I put the bike up on the center stand and started it up. I put it in first gear and let the clutch out letting the back wheel spin at about 5-10 mph on the speedometer. I then pulled the clutch in and than applied the front brake. Guess what....the back brake did not engage!!! Soooooo with that said, either my 2012 C14 is jacked up and needs to go to the dealer (which I doubt) or all the people that said if you apply just the front brake the linked braking system will apply the rear brake on its own... were.... well....WRONG!!! :P

You weren't going fast enough. . .it engages (activates) around 18 mph
