Title: Waiting on my new 2011.
Post by: Scaffolder on December 30, 2012, 08:25:53 AM
Well I was going to get a leftover 2011 silver, and found out dealer couldn't get the silver, so I am grabbing a black one. I absolutely love the looks of the black one after seeing it at the dealer. I couldn't pick it up, because all the prep wasn't done yet. And the windscreen looks like ZORO signed it. I told her I wouldn't accept the windscreen like that.
My 2010 is on consignment there and they look pretty good together. I'll let them try to sell it until April and then maybe bring it home and put it on the side of the road for sale.
After being dumped with snow far the past week. I am in less of a hurry to get these into my garage.

Just curious- why are your reasons for trading in a 10 for an 11?

Just trying to stay on new bikes. My insurance plan has way better coverage for a bike in it's first 2 years.I did not get to trade my bike in. They would only offer around $6.000 for my bike if I am going to get my new bike for such a good price. I am only paying $12,500 OTD. So my 2010 is sitting on consignment at that dealership. They have it priced at $10,500. I have it priced at $9,000.

The black will be so hard for me to keep looking clean with all the miles I put on. But when they are clean they are great looking.

Coo. The dealers offer is just hilarious. Do you guys in the south have Kijiji? Offer a good deal and people will travel a long way to save a few bucks. If I lived closer i'd give you 9 for it. Should sell in the spring.

I hope so. My wife will kill me if they are both in the garage in June.

Have fun with the anticipation!

Everyone wants a new bike.  My '10 has >66,000 on it and I just want it to hurry and hit 200,000 so I can part it out on ebay  :D

Joel from Maine, congrats on the new ride! Just rode mine to the Rock Store this morning in sub freezing temps with frost on the black top in the canyons and was thinking to myself as I tried to feel my fingers "I moved from Maine to get away from this...". Don"t start with me about heated grips and gloves etc. I moved to SoCal so I won't need that stuff.

Did I mention I'm ordering some Mobile Warming (great company name) gloves tomorrow?

Sold my Harley XR1200 through the dealer purchased from. Took a while but I did better then I would have private sale and did not have to deal with Craig's List ads et all.

In July I road mine from FL to the Rock Store in CA, and the only time my hands got cold is when I went through the July snow in the Rockies  (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/bigthumb.gif)

Heated grips are awesome- Sorry!
I tend to ride in the cold. I just don't have one in the garage to ride right now. I have ridden 100 plus miles in snow. Not by choice. And I remember riding 160 miles on a day the temps didn't hit much over 5 degrees. Toughest ride yet, and on my old naked Triumph. BRRRR    BRRRR!!

I'd just ask them to take $50 off the price and apply the savings to buying  a good aftermarket windshield like a Cal Sci.

Good point. I do still have a new one in the box that I took off my 2010. We'll see how it plays out.
