The only way I could see to remove the e-clip is with a flat head screw driver; but it looks like that would destroy the e-clip. Is there a way to remove that e-clip and reuse it? Or do I need to factor two new clips for my peg replacement project.

They are easy to remove and reusable. You will need a few simple things to accomplish this task- a flat head screwdriver (relatively small), a wider, flat tool such as a paint scraper, some band aids and a medium sized box of really bad words.
If you cannot get the screwdriver under one of the cutout areas of the E- clip, use the wider tool to press on both edges of the clip; this will not actually remove the clip unless you slap the tool pretty smartly on the E-clip at which point the clip will fly unbelievably far and into the dirtiest, remotest and most bug infested part of the garage. You will now need some of those already mentioned words. But assuming the clip just lifts up a bit, push the tip of the screwdriver under the other radius end of the clip, put down the scraper and cover the top of the pin with your other hand; then twist the screwdriver and voila! the tip of the small screwdriver is stuck in your other hand the E-clip is settled back into place. Place bandage on hand, use bad words in new combinations and start with the scraper again. After several iterations of this, the E-clip will suddenly and to your great surprise just be gone (yep, in that corner). Use some more bad words and don't even bother looking for it- just use a twist- tie from a bread wrapper wound around the groove in the peg's pin and hope for the best.
Seriously, pry it off with a screwdriver but really, they do tend to fly a lot. Some people call them a Jesus pin 'cause they can make you say that a lot....
To install one, place the clip in the groove with the open end facing down. Use the scraper tool to press the clip straight down so that it snaps into place…. Or it flies off entirely. The good news is that they do not fly as far when miss- installed as they do when miss- removed.

I've had good luck with the footpeg sized clips by using a small, pocket type screwdriver. Instead of attacking it from the open end, go to the closed end. Use the small, flat head to gently slide it off the round pin. Its not much fun as I've yet to launch one across the garage, though. As always, be careful. I learned this method after a clip bounced off of my eye lid.

Thanks everyone! Great Suggestions! It's been a little chilly here in the North East, but I'm going to power up the garage heater at my brothers place, and get to work on the pegs. I've said it before - Concours owners rock!
