Title: problems removing the stock seat
Post by: C14rider7777 on December 25, 2012, 04:20:14 PM
I just bought this used 2008 C14 and realized the accessory jack does not provide power. i am trying to get under the seat to see if it is a bad fuse. Has anyone had this problem. I have followed the manual instructions. No joy.

Make sure you turn the key and at the same time give it a smack backwards. Should pop out.

Insert the key into the seat lock. Press down on the back of the seat then turn the key. Now lift up slightly on the back of the seat and give it a smack in the backwards direction.

This is a common problem with the stock seat and it has to do with improper seat reinstallation after removal.  Make sure that the center metal clips fully slide in before pushing down on the back of the seat to lock it.   If you lock it with the center clips floating, you will have a jammed seat.

This is one thing I have found wrong with the C14.  The stock seat is a PITA to put back properly after removal.
