Title: Ronda Rousey - UFC champion?
Post by: timsatx on December 19, 2012, 10:58:07 AM
I love me some Ronda Rousey, but how is she the UFC champion if she has never fought in the UFC? When they created the Flyweight class they had a fight-off to determine the champ. With her they proclaimed that she is the champ. I know she is a champ in Strikeforce, but I think she should still have a fight-off to determine the champ in the UFC. JMNSHO

I don't have too much issue with giving her the belt right off the bat. She said she doesn't really think it's hers until she wins it and that attitude goes a long way. White said he offered the fight to quite a few opponents and most declined, Carmouche accepted and thats the fight. I'd consider that the fight-off. More likley that not it's a commercial descision, Dana knows that and made, IMO, the right move for to promote interest and long term support for womens divisions in the UFC.

I don't know anything about any of this so I went to youtube and searched for Ronda Rousey and watched a couple of her fights.

Holy ****! Do NOT let her get a hold of your arm! You may not ever get it back.    :o

You may get it back...but it's probably not going to 'work as advertised' for quite some time.

Look for the 2012 ESPN Body issue with her on the cover, just don't do it at work.
