I think we need a required sticky thread cross referencing anyone who signed up for the new forum under a different name than on the old forum. I really don't want to say the wrong thing to guys that I used to like and respect. On the other hand, I may compliment someone who was a ***** on the old forum - can't have that :o
-
I agree that would be handy. I had difficulty and could not get my old username to register ofr some reason. Had to add the 2 at the end. I would think most people would register with the same name they had, but then again............

Go into your profile, look for the "Name" entry on the Account Settings page. You should be able to change it to your liking, provided it's not taken already.
Note your login name will remain the same. eg: "Admin" is the first registration, but shows in the forum as "Administrator".

Don't worry I'll still be the same old ***** I've always been.......... ;)

If your the bad cop, who is the good cop? vajim has been tougher then you ::)
-
I was able to use my "old" name (tho it was only 2 months old when when the forum crashed.)
-
I'm using a different name, it's the same name I use on other forums. My real name is in my signature so I don't think there should be any confusion. I'm still the guy who likes Avon tires, and can't understand why anyone would want to lower their Concours.
-
Does this mean I can pick a new personality?
-
There was a guy on the old forum named ZG, I was so jealous of his freshly black powder coated wheels that I took his name and avatar pic for myself to use on this new forum... I rode up behind him once on my silver connie but for some reason I could never catch up to him... ;) ;D 8)

Kinda funny you guys bring this up. I scan the avatars and sig's, and mostly know who it is. Or was ;)

You're more than welcomed to change your display name from w/in your profile, and it's somewhat advised. Your log in name will not change though.

Would you like for me to ban you just for kicks and giggles? :loco:

:rotflmao: Yes, and then it's my turn... ;)

Heard Lacy J. Dalton sing similar words in a song—“Comes A Time”. However, I believe the words were "when you're drifting" not "when you're dreaming". Don’t know who wrote the song.
I’ve been thinking about changing my forum name. Don’t think it would matter much since I’m not a “prolific poster”. I've heard, "change is good--sometimes". LOL

It is Neil Young. The title of the song is Comes a Time. Shokdimn is correct in that the lyrics are when you're driftin, not dreamin.
One of my favorites.

An admin friend of mine, on a gaming server, once managed to ban himself. :rotflmao:
He was trying to ban a disruptive clan, and was using "*" as a wildcard to get all the disruptive individuals at once. Unfortunately, he didn't type anything AFTER the wildcard and managed to ban everyone on the server. Including himself.

Dat would have been funny as all get out........ :hitfan:

Good job Cold & Sho, but if you have ever seen Neil Live, he always says "dreamin", thats what age does to you. I have seen him twice, and both times he used dreamin. Imagine that.
Everyone be safe out there.

We are creatures of habit.

As do most of us...
Only reason I changed mine was to make fun of you.....
-
I am the same name on adv ridr, the stromtrooper forum and here. Same guy here. I just can't figure a way to bring my avatar back.
-
Why would I want to alter my alter ego? That sounds like work.
Ooops! Looks like I need to get myself an avatar.
-
Mine, like the song, remains the same... :)
LOVES me some Zep, Cigarski! ;)

Funny and true all at the same time. It would be best if everyone used his / her old forum name 'cause it would save time getting to the place we will naturally gravitate toward. We are all going to end back at the same personal level of interaction anyway, changing a 'handle' might just make it take longer.
But I think you are correct- use the old names and start hating each other right off.... it will save time. (kidding here folks).
