just make sure the stores you buy from are factory authorized by Escort. Many companies, especially Escort, don't honor warranties unless you bought from one of their authorized dealers

Good point. It was listed as sold by Amazon, LLC. I'll check and see if they are an authorized seller.

I absolutely LOVE mine and paid about $500 for it. Well worth it if it saves you from even 1 ticket and it has for me multiple times. It has by far the best signal to noise ratio (real alerts to false alerts) of any radar detector I have ever used. This is partially due to its ability to map out false alarms when encountered more than 3 times at a given location with its built in gps.

Received the Escort Passport 9500 ix today. I was able to register the warranty online so it appears that Amazon,LLC. is an authorized Escort retailer. Now just need to decide on type of mounting hardware and decide if I want to add a visual alert or audio alert to the setup.

From time to time Escort offers discounts if you trade in your old detector, working or not. The last time I saw this they were offering $75. You have to buy directly from Escort though. So before you buy a new detector you might want to check Escort's website. They also offer 'free extras' when you order directly from them, check it out.

"For a limited time: Trade in a detector and we'll give you up to $80 on your trade when you purchase any new ESCORT Radar Detector."

I'm starting to think that it might be time for a new detector, one for the car one for the bike. The one I'm using works fine but I have two old non working Escorts, one of them is the first model they made.
