Just looking to see what filter is used most. Feel free to add why you like a certain filter.
Have fun!

OEM Kawi, only 2k miles on my Connie so far so only one oil change to date.
-
OEM for the first change. K&N for two reasons, 1 the welded on "bolt" and 2 the local dealer said that he would have to order the OEM. I can get the K&N quicker through Murph.
How does the dealer do an oil change without stocking filters? I had the same issue with the same dealer when I owned the V-Strom.

HiFlo-303, the one that makes K&N oil filters...

+2 The nut area is nicely reinforced, so if one takes the direct hit on the road, less chances you'll be stranded.

Yep, it's always good to have the nut area reinforced. Also have Murph's oil filter protector installed.

The Kawi OEM's are always available and in stock at my dealer and I've never had a problem removing one. Of course there was that awesome first one put on by the "HULK" at the factory...that's another story, but no probs since! :o A cheap $5 end-cap wrench that's available at any auto parts store works great and is the alternative to having a "nut" welded to the filter. It's what I used on that first one from the factory. They come in various sizes and you just have to make sure you get the one that fits the end of your particular filter. My 2 cents, YMMV. 8)

It might be of additional help if someone could post the approximate price of each of the different filters in the poll. Sometimes that can be the deciding factor.

Price is no object. I buy from Murph. He supports us so I buy from him. I'm not scrimping on a filter. I like K&N because they feel and appear to be able to handle a tank driving over top of them.
