I'm posting this for interest and documentation.
2012 C14 with 4350 miles. Stock with no accessories.
The bike has been outside all night and the when I started the bike, it reported 39 degrees. The bike was parked in 1st gear.
I selected Neutral, and cycled the Meter to Voltage and the bike reported 14.1. Switched on the grip warmers.
Then for no more than a second, the Warning Light flashed and 'FI' displayed on the Meter. Then it went away.
The engine sounded normal the entire time.

These things happen........

Strange but true... Maybe the drain of the grip warmers gave the ECU a momentary hiccup. Probably too early too much kind of thing. Check and clean the battery connections wouldn't hurt.

+1 Check them battery connections.

I usually get it when riding like a maniac in the middle of nowhere. I consider it a feature of the 2nd gen model.

Or the grip warmers were improperly broken in.
