Title: Motorcycle Superstore suspention tech visit
Post by: jamiemac on October 27, 2012, 05:35:03 PM

They had a customer appreciation day today at the Louisville, Motorcycle Superstore closeout warehouse. Free pizza from Papa Johns, and a suspension guru on site, making adjustments.

After I gorged Myself with as much peperoni pizza as I could hold (about the middle of My neck) I had the suspension dude take a look at the Connie. Asked Me some questions. Made some adjustments, & told Me to take it for a spin & let Him know if I liked it. Seemed pretty good to Me. I had the frt preload way too harsh. He charged Me $5. Guys worked with My bike, I know for at least half an hour. Deal of the century, Fellas.

Pretty happy overall. Free lunch, and a $5 suspension adjust. Good day. The Connie is a hell of a bike, when Her forks and shock are allowed to do their job.

Suspension techs usually charge substantially more, I would assume.

good deal indeed, even if you paid 5$ for the pizza.
My dealer is great, but he admits not being a suspension guru by any stretch, so on my last outing in the Alps I limited my changes to a full turn to the right on both fork legs and 2 or 3 clicks harder on the back know (what ever it does). It felt great. Still eating up road irregularities while at the same time feeling taut. Great bike indeed.

Now that's a VERY nice price!

Maybe you should have had them set-up your bike before you added all that extra weight?    ;)

Nice!  I can't even get a suspension tech to walk to my bike at the track for 5 bux  :-\

That is a great deal. But in my opinion, the deal of the century will be when I find one that will lube my shaft for $5. If you hear anything along those lines, let me know :).

I'd be willing to pay good money for someone who really knows what they are doing to setup my suspension. But how do you find such a person?

Okay you see what you did wrong there.... you gorged yourself on pizza THEN did a suspension adjustment.  Now your settings will be all off once you've worked off all that pizza.

It seems that My rides are always to some place to find food. Sometimes Me and My buds head to Moonlight BBQ in Owensboro, KY. So..half of my rides are always with a full stomach! LOL
