Well at least as far as riding "and pretty much anything else goes", but will still be pecking on the keyboard here. I met with the surgeon yesterday concerning my shoulder, and the MRI results were as I feared. Have a full surface tear of my subscapularis tendon in the rotator cuff, bone spurs on my humerus socket, tear of my Labrum PLUS a cyst, and a real bad case of tendinitis. So I won't be riding for a good while, so I must say I am quite bummed. :( Surgery is next Friday, and I am looking at missing 3 weeks of work "minimum". Glad I know what is wrong and glad it is all gonna get fixed.......but damn!!!!!!
-
Good luck Pokey

Slacker! ;)

Heal fast :chugbeer:

Wow hope they fix you all up quickly!

Wish ya a speedy recovery Brian! :chugbeer:

Good luck, hopefully you will have a speedy recovery.

Heal fast, Pokey. I did the rotator cuff tango a few years ago and it wasn't nearly as bad as the doctor said it would be. I was done with rehab in half the time and only missed a few days of work. Your mileage may vary . . .

Yeah I know it can be subjective, my Doc wants me in a sling for 3 weeks however. I have had 3 knee surgeries so I am pretty aware of dealing with the pain of rehab. Not being able to ride and shoot is going to drive me INSANE!!!! :-[
-
Walk it off!
Seriously though, heal up quick, Man.
-
When you get to be my age then we'll talk about the daily pains of age. Damn kids!
Take care of yourself and listen to the Doc..not that I ever do. ;)
-
That sucks!!! Heal up quick.

Cheer up Poke!

I would be a great Mod, I was an Admin/mod at another moto site for several years. ;) And that video really did cheer me up, boy were those the good ole days. I am now going to go out and do a bit of 1 handed mowing, oh how I love my Honda pushmower.

I have a Honda motor on my current push mower and I will take my old Cub Cadet with a Kawasaki motor any day of the week. But I guess that a $500 mower vs a $200 mower isn't a fair comparison. ;)
As soon as the Cub Cadet gets fixed (broken blade mount on the crank) I will be using it, since it makes yard work an absolute pleasure.

Good luck on the surgery tomorrow, Poke. I'll be checking in on you, Saturday.
-
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. :chugbeer:

I had pretty similar surgery about 4 years ago. The bad news: 3 months sound pretty optimistic to be riding a big scooter (mostly because it will take awhile to get the strength back to control the bike if it gets a little sideways -- and you don't want to have to do this again). The good news: my shoulder is now better than it has been in years.
-
I am hurting bad, put this consistent pain right up there if not worse than broken ribs. Surgeon said there was even a bit more wrong in there than he thought, and he even had to tighten up my bicep a bit. Pain meds are my friend, and I have this neat electric icewater recirculator that stays on my shoulder instead of icepacks. Hopefully Jim is still stopping by to see me today, would be good for lifting my spirits a bit.

Hang in there brutha, we're all wishing you a speedy recovery! :grouphug: :chugbeer:

You would post something like that knowing my right arm and hand doesn't work. >:(

Good luck with your recovery. Listen to your PT. Don't miss PT. I had a surgery that was a little more extensive a few years back... It's not fun, but it's not forever.

I had the same thing happen after my four surgeries. I just made sure I ate plenty (two or three bowls daily) of cereal high in fiber along with a couple glasses of grape or apple juice every day. If that isn't enough, you might need fiber pills or the stir in drink additive.
-
Fiber pills are not working, may need to drink some yeungling to flush out my system. ::) ::) ::)

You are correct, Coors is a bit like liquid plumber.

Fiber and a lot of water. Pistachio nuts work for some. ::)

Give that a shot. After yesterday I will personally vouch for it's effectiveness.

Nothing wrong with the system, the narcs bound me up and the stuff I drank yesterday opened up the gate with a vengeance. All seems to be better today, looking to be more of a regular guy.

If you become 'regular', I'm banning you..
