Title: ProjektD....Good Store
Post by: NuckaMan on September 21, 2012, 11:58:49 AM
Just got my first order from ProjektD. Even with the reviews, I'm always little leary about ordering from overseas.

Well, all I can say is, anyone who may have any reservations can be put at ease.

The communication level, shipping packaging, excellent install manual and product quality....all, were top notch.

If there is any knock, it would be shipping costs. Wow, that was expensive!!!!

BTW...ordered the following:

-Radiator Protector
-Universal GPS Mount Bracket
-License Plate Hanger

I got the GPS Mount for my '10 C14 had to redrill the holes as they were the wrong spacing. Not sure how they screwed that up.

The price isn't too bad... unless the quality is low. The idea of getting the stock glass out is daunting, tho.

I look forward to your full write-up when you get it done!

Sounds like to me it just sticks on the existing glass but I could be wrong.

That would suck. The description says in includes the mirrors, and the LEDs are behind the glass.

Looks to me the led's take up the only useable part of the mirror.

Yeah, that could be a liability on the 08/09 bikes.  10+ maybe not so much.

If they're like some of the ones I've seen on cars, there's a "viewing angle" for the LEDs... but I think the bike is too narrow to benefit from this in the same way a car does. It's one of those things where I'd REALLY like to hold one in my hands before committing to the purchase. I'm just glad Jim is taking the risk for our benefit.

Wow- I wish the bike had those stock.  I would be interested, but remember that I reversed my blinking into running lights- so they would be on all the time.... GREAT for front/side signals, not good for mirrors!

They do look cool though.

Fits on 2008 to 2012 Model bikes.

Our LED Mirror Kit adds an amber color - turning signal function to the bike.

The mirror turning signals will make the turning bike more visible to other vehicles coming from behind
and are also a visual reminder to the rider that the turning signals are activated.

* The kit is a complete set of ; mirror glasses, LED lights and cabling accessories for both left and right side.

* The mirror glasses are water-repellent treated and provide a wide angle view.

* The LED lights are mounted behind the mirror glass, so the mirror surface stays clear and clean.

* The mirror glasses are installed on top of the standard mirrors so there is no need to replace the mirror glass.

* The LED lights are wired into the nearby turning lights ( middle fairing ) so there is no need for extensive electrical wiring.

And meanwhile after a long ride today through central and southern VA and back to the Northern Neck......I've decided to get them.  I'll follow through with a review after I have them installed.

Considering he's about a meter away from the bike and kneeling, I think he's testing the concept before wiring it to the bike itself. But yes... a shot from dead behind the bike would be good, plus the angle Valerio has in this vid (which shows how a car in the next lane would see it).

Based on this vid, I think yours should be brighter, Valerio.

The rear-view mirrors of the Kawasaki GTR 1400 are designed to allow a window at the end of the mirror is not visible to the naked eye.
Found the right to apply LED behind the rearview mirror will cut the bulb mass, it was possible to discover with this provision unknown to me

Not bad.  The only fault I can find with it is that the blinkers aren't in sync with the music.
