Title: Lower driver pegs & most recent rear brake pedal recall
Post by: SkipH76 on September 09, 2012, 08:44:27 PM
Anyone with lowered driver pegs - i.e. Murphs or Buell - have any issues with the newest design brake pedal cable?  Does it adjust properly with the lower pegs?

TIA!

I have Buell pegs and I found the new brake linkage easier to adjust and it has as much range as the old one.

I had lowered pegs for awhile and had cut about 1/4" from the threaded rod coming out of the master to allow the brake peddle to be lowered safely without putting any pressure on the master. I didn't like the lowered pegs after all and put it back to stock. The threaded rod was still long enough to put the peddle back to stock as well. I the recall done and no problems at all. As BackInTheSaddleAgain said, it's easier to adjust now and no problems with stock peddle height.

I've got Murphs pegs.  Ok for me after the recall.  Just had them run it down as far as they could.
I have not cut the rod down.

I've got the Buell pegs and found that run all the way down is still not quite enough. I'm going to see if I get used to it or I will cut the rod this winter when I do the valve clearance check again.
