Title: Engine noise
Post by: Matt L on September 02, 2012, 01:55:25 PM
This may be a long shot, but can anyone deduce where this noise is coming from?

It is from a 1986 w/34K.  Valves were adjusted 5K miles ago and the cam chain tension was removed and replaced to take the slack out of the chain (I periodically perform th CCT R&R procedure and the noise never sounded like that!)

The bike doesnt seem to have lost power (rideability is unaffected and appears to go away at higher rpms).

Thanks in advance!

Matt

Problem solved!

It was a bad CCT.  I installed a manual CCT and the noise is gone.
