Title: SMH10 code 4.1.1 (supposedly fixes some audio bugs)
Post by: VirginiaJim on August 29, 2012, 04:56:05 AM
SMH10 Firmware...

http://www.senabluetooth.com/products/smh10.php?tab_menu=downloads (http://www.senabluetooth.com/products/smh10.php?tab_menu=downloads)

Remember, you might have to update the managing software as well, though 4.1 is still current.

Download page....  http://www.senabluetooth.com/support/download_document.php (http://www.senabluetooth.com/support/download_document.php)

Supposedly this fixes some audio bugs.  Also, this may be beta code from the caption at the top of the page.

Strange, they had the 4.1.1 out a few weeks ago then took it down.  Now it is back up, hopefully as a new and improved 4.1.1

thanks for the info, I will update mine again tonight.

We downloaded the new firmware and went on a short ride this evening. No more issues with static. It was too short of a ride to know for sure, but the small issues we were having seem to be corrected.

I'll wait to hear what folks are saying about the volume. Seems to be an ongoing problem with it down then up, then back down with an update.

Do you know if it's possible to just reapply the 4.1.1 update if they just re-released it?

I don't see why not.  You may get a message that the code is current...  I was able to reflash mine to 4.1.1 again from my img file.  It still says 4.1 on the manager sw though.

Thanks, will try to do it tonight.

Same here.

I had a 3.0 version on one set and a 4.1 on another and seemed to have an issue with the two way. I upgraded the 3.0 and this did fix the issue.

Lone-Rider, I don't seem to have any issues with the volume going up and down, stays consistant at this time, I have about 120 miles on the upgrade.

Got mine today and it has 4.1.1 out of the box. I don't like the stereo audio quality and will try the ear-bud adapter next. The intercom and phone sound good and loud though. I also cant get the Velcro to stick wort a $hit to the speakers.

Ok, after repositioning the speakers the stereo sounds great and loud. They originally detached from the velcro and were faced downward. Nothing a little hot glue couldn't fix! The velcro that comes with the pads suck butt.

That's a good point.  Happened to me as well.  Good trick with the hot glue.

The ear bud adapter sounds good if you want to try that.

I got them positioned right at my ear hole and their not going anywhere.  They sound great now. They are also loud as all hell with full volume up. No way could I listen to them that loud. If the new 4.1.1 caused the volume to be lower, than no wonder because you would get ear damage with anything louder. It's like a freakin rock concert in my helmet!

sound quality from the ear bud adapter, is it worse than directly connected to the audio player ?? thats my concern is the quality of sound will be noticeably worse. Also, say for example yesterday, moving for almost 9 hours, music the entire time, how long does the battery last ?? would i have to recharge mid day ?? other option is to still use my current setup, then just use the helmet speakers with the -10 for the occasional call or text with my phone and pause my music. i have the firear M-2xb http://www.fit-ear.com/products-page/motorcycle-products/m-2xb-dual-with-extra-bass/ (http://www.fit-ear.com/products-page/motorcycle-products/m-2xb-dual-with-extra-bass/)

thoughts or ideas ?? no bike to bike at this time. i think all the other guys have the g4? or something. heh

thanks much, sorry to jump in here

I use the ear bud adapter and I can't tell it's not connected directly to my iPod. Sound quality for me is perfect.

I gotta agree with crash.... My ER6i's sound great as if they're directly attached to the iPhone.

Sena's came in and got them installed. It came with the latest version users guide. Maybe someone can help clarify an issue if I'm missing something here.

Here's the scenario I am wanting: iphone directly paired for phone and streaming music; separate pairing with Zumo 550 for voice prompt directions only. If I'm reading the manual right, it says with the latest version I can do this exact setup since it will now support "multipoint pairing". It paired up easily and I thought successfully.

Took a ride and the streaming music from the iphone sounded great. The test call was also great. I hit the "home" button on the Zumo to test the voice directions. It paused the music and the voice prompt worked well. The problem is, after the first voice prompt, the streaming music never returned. It was still going on the iphone, but the headset never picked it back up.

Am I misunderstanding the capabilities of the unit? User error? Your thoughts?

Rush, (love the name and avatar by the way)

I've had that happen a couple of times. Not sure what's going on and I have mine set up completely different than you. I have my phone BT to the Zumo 550 and the Zumo BT to the Sena. I have my iPod wired directly to the earbud adapter. I do this so I have phone book and call out capability through the Zumo, but still have stereo music since the Zumo can't BT stereo. For me the problem was intermittent. I still haven't figured out why it happened but it hasn't happened in a while.

since the Zumo can't BT stereo.

The Zumo 550 can't BT tunes in stereo?  ??? :o

Wow, for that much $ I just assumed it did...  Does the Zumo 660 BT tunes in stereo?  ???

Don't know about the 660, but the manual for my 550 says stereo through the headphone jack only.

After a little research, it appears that the 660 does have stereo BT.
