Title: Schuberth
Post by: Sinstr on August 15, 2012, 05:58:10 AM
Just pulled the pin and ordered a Schuberth C3 modular halmet from Revzilla.  At $699 they are not cheap but they are tremendous helmets.  I could not believe the difference in weight and quietness from my Nolens, Scorpions, and HJC

I'm thinking of buying one as well, but for that kind of money I want to try one out first.  I actually have found a dealer who is going to let me test ride one.  Let us know how you like it.

Got my first test ride with the new Schuberth C3 and it lives up to the company's advertising.  I could not ask
for a better helmet.

The Schuberth demo truck is at my local BMW shop today (Fife, WA, if anyone is near by).

If I were in the market, I'd be down there trying it out. They're allowing you to test ride with them, which I think is amazing.

I'd like to know how quiet it is compared to my noisy arai and shoei helmets.

Not the easiest comparison... but if you dig thru these reviews, http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmets.htm (http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmets.htm), it may help in comparing the models.

Unless, of course, someone has FHE with both and can chime in.

Great- thanks a lot. It is posts like these that make me think about the C3 all over again.  :-\

I got to try one on last year and I have to say, it was quite nice in there. I didn't ride with it, just took a test- fit in the store but they do have an excellent reputation.

I have ridden with a c3 for about a year. Quieter than a shoei standard, very light, Bluetooth sound is excellent (conference calls at 80mph), and sunshade is top notch. I have three of them now for the heads of the family.

Highly recommended

Are you exaggerating?  I work from home and attend conference calls much of the day!?  If you're serious I'm buying.  Even if they are at 60 MPH hehe

Modern technology is great. I've taken calls on the freeway and no one was the wiser. Tho, I'd rather not, as I think it distracts me.

Is there any interference with the sun shade and installing a Sena SMH10? Be nice to see some pic's of one installed on the helmet.

I ordered a C3 from Revzilla last yr and I really wanted it to work. It just didn't fit my head shape. My jaw was way too big and it was like slamming the luggage shut on the wife's over stuffed suitcase. Also had a pressure spot on the forehead. I went with the Shoei Multitec in the same size. The Neotec wasn't rleased yet. Size large Shoei fits me like a glove like always. The C3 is a fabulous helmet though if it fits you.

That comment about the forehead pressure is fairly common.  Before spending $700 people need to try it on and be particularly sensitive about any pressure on the forehead.

re: (conference calls at 80mph)

Yes - albeit with the windscreen up.  In fact NO ONE I have talked to has been able to tell I was on a motorcycle - several commented after finding out that the background sound was far better than inside my pickup truck!

Guys I just went and looked at this helmet, they told me 699 then another 300 for the bluetooth functionality....     is this the case or is there a better solution?

And I use earplugs, I'm curious if I'd leave them for the bluetooth application  when using MP3 stereo or phone in the helmet?

I could've asked the guy at the stealership but wanted some expert opinion from those of you who actually use it

Thanks for any input-

Not surprising. The Nolan add-on module isn't too far off that price.

I'd just buy the radio you want. If the Schuberth has add-on capability, then it'll be pretty easy to get the speakers and mic installed... just not as slick as one that just pops in because Schuberth sells one made it

Thanks, $1000 seems a lot. The Schubert one avoids the wind noise from a unit on the side and an antenna which seems to be a plus.  I'm almost going to pass on this for the price though
