Putting this back out there. Has anybody tried these adaptors yet on our c-10,s to see if they will work? I guess I am a little late getting into the c-10 grove as I had previously been vtec-n and then bandit 1250-n, now those are great bikes Ijust am getting older and a new grandfather and dont have the need to be trying to play Ricky Racer anymore. However coming from those bikes I can say that the connie needs break improvements up front I dont see any renewed interest in the caliper adaptors. is it a liability issue ? Just curious I thought by now maybe Murph would of had some of his people to have already had these in his lineup. Anyway Just chck with some of the veterans for some insight. Regards Steve

I spoke with Kevin Baker last week about making the brackets, and he said he will talk to Murph this week and see if it
is something that is doable.

I'm also anxious to upgrade my front brakes. They are definitely lacking. I have a pair of ZRX calipers in my garage, but no way to mount them.
-
Jim, good deal that would be super, keepus posted plsr. Neo2blue. will take that into thought but even with that I love my new to me 06 my friend but no way on the front brakes. the bandit 1250 had 1st gen abs breaks, that were spongy but even still they were better than what we have. I have riden one with the brake upgrade and its miles better feel as to what we have now. Thx Steve
-
You cannot compare the stock Connie brakes to a set of 4 pots (or 6 pots) on a 320mm rotors even when well maintained with HH pads and SS lines and I would not ever say they are 'Very Good'.
The difference is very dramatic and brings the C10's (in my opinion) lac- luster 'barely adequate at best' brakes up to a more modern level of competent braking. It has nothing to do with being an aggressive driver, when you need to stop you need to have good brakes. I was not getting that with stock.

Thx Mike, Thats the words I was looking for not trying to start a bad thing but with the upgrade the darn thing just flat out stops better. Regards Steve

I was fortunate enough to get one of the last addaptors for the ZRX calipers. Those along with the S/S lines from Murph's. All I can say is............OMG!!!!! One of the most needed mods you can do to your Connie.
-
Tele, you gotta figure out a way to get those suckers copied! I need them, I have calipers collecting dust!
-
Jim or Doug,
Very interested in what either or both of you can hash out about these brackets. Do you feel the urgency??? ;D

Man, I wish I had the capability to make you a set. I'd be more than happy.................wait a minute. Let me make a phone call tomorrow......(insert evil grin).
-
Let me know bro. The brakes on my ZRX that I sold were leaps and bounds over these Connie brakes.

Will do. Just try to imagine that feel and stopping power on the Connie. Unreal man.......unreal ;-). Now when I go out the the local ZRXOA guys I can atleast feel I can keep up...........I did say "Feel" :rotflmao:
Don't have to start bleeding off speed a half mile before the curve. ;-)

Yes, I would love that very much. As much as I love this bike, I HATE the brakes, and yes, I have the fancy pads, lines, new fluid, rebuilt the master cylinder, left the lever zip tied to the grip overnight, etc etc, and quite simply, the setup is just old and outdated.
Of course I've also owned 2 1st gen FZ1's, and the brakes on that bike are ridiculous. Damn near anything pales in comparison to the brakes on that beast.

MURPHY, PLS COME TO OUR RESCUE WE ARE BEGGING YOU. Regards and much LOVE in this endeavor. Steve

I just emailed Murph to see what the status on this is.

There was a post on this site or the C.O.G. site about them. Sorry, I can't remember were it was. I do have a name and address from the envelope they came in if you want. Wish I could be more help.

Hey Steve, Yes. These were one of the sets (if not "THE" last set) he made for the ZRX calipers. 6 pot VS. 4 pot? Sorry Steve, I don't know the answer to that one. And the rotors are stock......................for now. ;)

The jury is out on the 6 pot versus 4 pot but the 4 pots will pull you down with one finger and stock brake lines. Some prefer then to the 6 pots. The most economical would be a bracket that incorporates 4 pots on a 320mm rotor. There are gobs of 320mm rotors floating around and gobs of 4 pot Tokico's and Nissins. The 320's look great on a stock Connie and add about 7% more stopping power. The 310mm ZRX rotors are not easy to find and they can be pricey. Be carefull when buying adapters that you are clear on what rotors they fit! :banghead:
If I EVER get this damn basement done on this foreclosure I can get my ZRX front end on and try the 6 pots. :chugbeer:

PS: Doug, make sure you watch those pads if you have Shaun's ZRX rotor adapters. You will start losing braking because of the uneven wear where the pads do not cover the rotors.

Thanks for the heads up Craig
