2010 Buzzing noise from the front.
« on: June 09, 2021, 05:23:17 PM »
I'd like to have some help with a strange noise coming from the front while riding. Sounds like it a pump or a broken pump noise. I'm wondering if it's some kind of servo pump just guessing. Any suggestion welcomed. Thanks

Is it engine speed related or wheel speed related?

Sounds like brake related. It sounds like an old car with a broken power steering pump of course not that loud.

So it is occurring when braking or just coming from the front brake area? Or what else might you mean by brake related sound. (I have no clue what an old car with a broken steering pump sounds like)

It would really help to have a complete description of when/where/how this happens, what, if anything, causes it to vary.  The information so far doesn't really give much to go on.

The only things moving out front are the tire/wheel/brake rotors.  So things like the wheel bearings, the brake pads might be an issue.  Is it possible that there is something loose like the front fender?

I had a set of brake pads that buzzed for awhile but I don't remember the brand unfortunately.

I guess my next step is replacing the pads if that would be the culprit.

Update on the buzzing noise. I replaced the the front pads, cleaned the calipers and pistons. Noise is gone. Thanks for all help.
