Just curious...what did Fred charge you for the work?

He was very much in line with what a dealership would charge.  However, I feel he went far beyond what most dealers would do.  There were several little things like a broken fairing tab and a stripped well nut that he took care of.  He took his time and had a good 12 - 15 or so hours into the job (my estimate).  He'll be more than happy to quote you a turn key price.

On another note, I didn't mean to stir the pot on his forum exit.  I didn't even realize it until my recommendation post and have no idea why and I'll leave it at that   :)

While I don't claim to know the facts for sure, it was my understanding that Fred quit posting here because of some sort of commitment to the COG or whatever it's called.  I have followed him on several forums - most notably the Goldwing forum.  I have also had some phone conversations with him a few years ago.  Hopefully there is not bad blood here - I only know him to be a really good guy.  I also know that a few people on the Goldwing forum have used him for service and were VERY please.  He lost his job of many years a few months ago, and while deciding what to do with his life decided to work on the bikes he knows well.

And I do feel the forum lost something by his leaving.

I would have to agree. No disrespect to anyone here, there are some knowledgeable folks on this board. But,........ Fred was the guy that Kawasaki engineers call when they are stumped.

FWIW, this thread started off innocently enough but it is almost like picking on that scab which is gonna make the scar bigger.

My advice is simple, please stop picking before the blood starts flowing.  We have ours, they have theirs and it has been working out great.

Tell him I said hi the next time you see him.  Are you guys still getting together each month?  I plan to have more free time this summer than I've had for a couple years.

Funny thing but 'photography' literally means 'light writing' from the Greek. But the technique is unusual.

Great photos Dave, and great technique. Thanks for sharing them.
