Title: Pisgah Covered Bridge
Post by: jerhofer on November 08, 2011, 08:18:16 PM: Short ride yesterday of 50 miles to the Pisgah Covered Bridge, just south of Asheboro, NC. The fall colors were spectacular.

accbiker, you mean to stop riding part of the year??!! ;) You need to head to north Georgia where we ride year round.

Explore this interesting structure, one of North Carolina's two remaining historic covered bridges. Built in 1911 at a cost of $40, the bridge is 54 feet in length and crosses the West Fork Branch of the Little River within the Uwharrie National Forest. A great spot for photography, picnics and nature walks along the surrounding quarter-mile walking trail. Picnic tables and public parking available.

Take exit 49 from Hwy 220/I-73/I-74.

Just another tool/excuse to going riding and exploring. :)

Post by: mlf73 on December 29, 2011, 12:24:03 PM: I was out riding one day and saw the signs for the Pisgah Covered bridge and figured I'd go check it out. This was probably around the time that jerhofer was in the area I guess. I thought I'd never get to the thing. I kept going and going, following the signs....finally found it out in the middle of nowhere. I wish our landmark/attraction/point of interest signs were a little better about giving information sometimes.
