SUNSET SOLAR ECLIPSE--TODAY! On Thursday, Oct. 23rd, the Moon will pass in front of the sun, off center, producing a partial solar eclipse visible from almost all of North America. The event will be particularly beautiful in the Central and Eastern time zones where maximum eclipse occurs at sunset.

We should be able to see it here, but I have a lot of trees in the way.

Yeah, and if you can see your shadow on those trees you are looking in the wrong direction anyway....

I got a good look at it until about 6:00 PM, then the trees on the western horizon got in the way.
Welding helmet on worked good except that the old glass is very pitted.
