Think I may have found my next bike??  The engine is the same one in my N1K, so I know it's solid. Better passenger accommodations for the wife...I might be trading my N1K next spring??

Kawi is kind of blurring the lines for me. Z1000 - Ninja 1000 - Versys 1000
Don't get me wrong, I like them all but not sure of all the distinctions.

I like! I think Kawi is filling the gap between N1K with bags and the C14. The Versys has many of the features of the C14, Abs, Traction control, two fuel map modes...even the plastic luggage rack looks the same!

I liked the Triumph Explorer XC, but the $ was way to high.

Anyone know the weight of the Versys 1K? I'm looking for something lighter than the C14, which had me looking at the F800GT.

I think the 2015 V1000 is a good looking street bike.  I still prefer the 2nd gen V650 based on photos I have seen of the new Versys 650.

I would not be willing to give up the shaft drive on the Concours for the Versys 1000.  I am also sold on TPMS.

Different ergonomics is the distinction.  Build for different riding purposes.

This is just a guess, but based on the weight of my Ninja 1000, with larger sub frame, larger tank, bags, etc etc it's prob in the 540-560 range?? Which is significantly lighter than the C14. To be honest, when we ride on the Ninja 1000, I don't miss the extra 200lb of the concours....but we do miss the better passenger accommodations. I think this new V1K hits the sweet spot right in between the concours & ninja 1000...not to big & heavy, but not too small either
