A group of us are heading to California this summer and looking at riding the road from Ferndale CA to Honeydew CA. This road was in pretty rough shape back in 2011 when we were there last. I think it's nickname is The Lost Coast Highway. Mattole Road on Google.
Does anybody know the condition of the roads between Ferndale and Honeydew? link below,
Also the road that goes through Humboldt Redwoods State Park towards Honeydew was in real bad shape in 2017 when I was there.
Does anybody know the condition of the road thru Humboldt Redwoods State Park?

How was it?

I've ridden it 2x, bumpy but worth it for the fantastic scenery.

Hope you had a great ride.  We avoided that road on the Concours and took a v strom 650 because of the potholes.  Some evil hidden holes in the tree shadow that bottomed  out the suspension. I think it was doable on the Concours but with caution not to mention random gravel sections.
The roads in Sonoma Mendocino and Humbolt counties get a pounding from winter storms and can quickly degenerate to a ww1 battlefield. These counties have some of the worlds best riding for sure.
