Don't say I didnt tell you so, years ago when folks enjoyed debating me ;D
Whether the topic was military drones operating overseas, or examining how to regulate the growing presence of private and commercial drones in U.S., drones emerged as the unavoidable topic about future tech. But, as recent events have proven, that future is "now."

I hates them, I do.

Pretty easy to shoot at something that can't defend itself. A scatter gun could take out the drone.

What about now?

I would suspect the accuracy of that set up to be hopeless. Mostly a noise making intimidation item that will cause a lot of crazies to get excited.

...and lets be honest. If you're in your front yard with a shotgun mowing down drones, you're probably gonna end up having a conversation with a judge about why you thought that was a good idea.

:rotflmao: Most likely..

This is another example of laws and regulations responding to people doing things and using technology in irresponsible ways. If RPV/UAV users hadn't started flying them over sports events and near airports in the way of aircraft and crashing them into people and buildings, then laws requiring registration and regulation would have been a little longer coming. They probably would have come along anyway, with registration fees, and taxes, etc., because the gov't never misses an opportunity to cash in on our stuff.
I hate that the news media has used the word "drone" so much now that it has become synonymous with any sort of small, radio-controlled aircraft. Most of what they are referrinbg to aren't drones, but Remotely Piloted Vehicles or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Kind of like assault rifles that aren't. But I do like the references that the term "drone" has historically been used for flying target vehicles, so maybe that can be a defense for anyone who shoots one down.

Too late....it's been the drone age for quite awhile.
drone(n): A drone is someone who follows an ideology or some other form of idealization mindlessly and uncritically.

I like this one (if money were no object):

Price doesn't seem that bad...a good drone is going to set you back a grand...my son-in-law flies one for the CDOT...pretty sure it cost more...
Shipping August 2016...?

That is cool. Be much cooler if it had a higher top speed (to keep up with motorcycles) 25mph won't quite cut it.
Still if they can get the price down a little, that would make it useful and salable to those that otherwise would have no interest in
owning a drone..excuse me UAV.

Probably not where I live, but most places no doubt. Unfortunate.
