Give me a good reason to upgrade to an iPhone 5
« on: October 19, 2012, 03:10:04 PM »
I currently have an iPhone 4. I also have an iHome radio in the bathroom and an iPhone alarm clock in my room which would require adapters for the docking of an iPhone 5. Not happy about that one Apple  >:(

I am happy with the 4 and have not seen or heard of any feature that would entice me to upgrade. As a matter a fact, I have been looking at the Droids, at least they have Google Maps. Not happy about that one either Apple. I started using the MapQuest App.

For those of you that have an iPhone 5 do you find that any of the new features are worth the upgrade?

To be in the "in" crowd is the only reason I see.

But Apple has a list of reasons  :D

Too big of a supporter to China........no thanks.

Even our toothpaste is made in china.  Raw steel is sent over there, processed, shipped back to make "made in USA" cars and John Deere tractors. Snap-on USA tools are made there, along with the tools your dentist uses. Your shopping carts and about everything you put in them is made there.  The parts at advanced auto and auto zone are made there.  Every type of light bulb made since 1990 is made there.

No escaping your $$$ going to china, and the charger to the phone you use now was "probably" made there. If not the whole charger, at least the plastic for the cable.

...and I bet the expresso machine my girl at starbux uses was made in a Chinese sweatshop too.

I dont have one, but the only reason I can see is that if you are an iPhone loyalist and you want 4G service.

The best reason?  You have too much money, and want to give thousands for a cell phone?  (Add up the cost of the phone and the service for the entire contract period...)

Or, you could just give me a few hundred $$'s, and come out way ahead  ;D ;D

You can get 4G service from an iPhone 4... I'm finally moving my wife to a 4 as the camera in the i3 simply sucks... I'd move her to a Droid OS like I did some time ago but she is slow to adapt and enjoys the ease of use from an iPhone & iPad. I'm extra glad that I did not want to spend the extra money of wait weeks on end for the i5 as it would have ticked me off to no end to find out about the plug differences as we have several devises that would have become useless, and then to need another dam cord hanging around.

Some of that is sadly true, and some of that is not entirely true.

iPhone 4's are not 4G Tony. 3G is just fine for what most people do, that is why I have no real reason to move to 4G until they scrap the 3G network, which is what will happen eventually.

I still have not heard anybody chime in that has an iPhone 5.

3 speed, 4 speed that stuff still confuses me.... All I know is that the iPhone 4S is listed as being 4G on ATT website...

Dang... I guess that you really can't believe everything you read on the Internet!   :o

No worries it was only a 50.00 investment for a 16GB and I really only bought it for the camera...

Bury it in a bag of rice for at least 24 hours. It will draw the moisture out better than anything else.

I have a 4s, and see no reason to upgrade to the 5.

If you want to use Google maps, you know that you can bookmark the mobile web page and make it appear as an "app", right? Granted, it's a different interface from what we're used to, but it's an option, depending on what is most important to you.

Never thought about that, but you know since I have been using Mapquest I find I like it more. Even when I am listening to tunes the volume goes down and some chic tells me "In 0.5 miles turn right."  ;D

Yep, no more of that chic's voice saying "you have no idea where you are going pull over and ask for directions."  :P
