Cycling compression shorts. In particular Pearl Izumi Attack Shorts with Race 3-D Chamois. I've tried a lot of other cycling shorts and these have the right amount of gel and have decent contours that help the junk and the trunk... The compression also helps with the thighs. Here's a link to the exact shorts.
http://www.pearlizumi.com/publish/content/pi_2010/us/en/index/products/men/ride/apparel/1.-productCode-0273.html

I was contemplating another seat, but these deal with the last little problem I was having... I can use 'em on my flat bar road bike too.
My scars just reopened :o  Used a pair of tose on a little daytrip to Barstow, CA.  The seams from the pads turned into a diamond edge sawsall.  If they aint seemless in the seat area I aint wearing em, no way, no how.  Good old vaseline for me, the powders all tend to absorb moisture and then bunch up in a nice line, ready to saw through the toughest butt cheeks.  Most any GI who has humped an 80 lb ruck for any real distance will tell ya that jar aint for lonesome activities.  Seemless and vaseline will get ya there in more comfort then jeans and the finest saddle.

Bummer about the scars reopening.  :( The key components to comfortable compression cycling shorts are multiple panels (literally the more, the merrier) and how the seams are sewn together. Having ridden and raced bicycles over the years, I've had the opportunity to experience all different types. The Pearl Izumis are expensive, but they are designed for professional cyclists and it shows. Eight to ten panel shorts will provide the most comfort and believe it or not, the more panels the shorts have the fewer hot spots will develop. If you don't like the powders then seriously consider trying the Chamois Butt'r, it works better than the Vaseline IMHO.

In a past life we used to slather the stuff on our feet. So why not protect the package? At least I'm not having to shave my legs anymore.   Payback was when I used my Ex's razor...  :rotflmao:

I'm having some difficulty with the concept here and need some details, I'm afraid. Are you saying that we should slather our entire junk and trunk with vaseline? And then put on those seamless bicyclists shorts? That seems so....I dunno....slimey. I just want to make sure I am following this correctly, because it seems like a process that would be really hard to undo in the middle of a long day-ride.

Kinda, just leave out the BC shorts ;D  The vaseline goes mostly in the creases, avoiding the stinky one ;)

Seems like it would be worth a try. What the hell, at least if I go down, I'll be pre-ointmented for road rash.

Give it a shot, after disbelieving Rangers for a few years I found myself deep in the North Carolina woods, sand felt like it was knee deep, ruck felt like a ton and all I could think of was just how raw the netherlands were.  Grabbed some vaseline and slathered it on.  I was in heaven, then I realized how deep the sand was.  I was always worried it would hold the sand in bad places, well, that sand was already there.  I really shoulda listened so much sooner.  Buy a branded, way over priced product with a monkey on it or get a small jar, cheapest comfort item out there.  Layered like this, vaseline, seemless boxer briefs (non cotton), and riding pants.  Cotton in the Summer really must be avoided, once wet it will create its own seem.
Try it, form yer own opinion, post up results or just enjoy and be quiet ;D

Body Glyde Original Anti-Chafe with allantoin is what I use both for riding and running. It goes on like stick deodorant and is not greasy.  Locally I can only find it in the athetics section of Academy Sports.
