Today:

Very nice job!

I'm surprised you had to tell us, with all the OEM muffler haters (on both forums) I'm surprised someone didn't spot it right off.
That's about a perfect sight line there as it lines up well with the lower rear part of the saddle bag. Another feather in your bonnet for sure.  :chugbeer:

Don't suppose that during the part where you were all covered in grinding dust and carbon you happened to reach out for your camera and take a few shots of the work in progress?

Unfortunately I didnt grab any pictures. I had too many things fighting me on this project, and the thought of a camera never crossed my mind.

"Well" done Nicole!

Did the muffler shortening change the sound at all?
While inside,, did you open it up a little?

Ride safe, Ted

I removed one screen inside, and this was necessary to shorten it as much as I did. I could have gone shorter, but I think 3.25 was good.

It sounds the same, nice and quiet!

Or, as in my case, don't want to lose any more of my hearing than I already have.  V8's with open headers, racing two strokes w/o any stinger silencers, 58 years drumming, years of large bore pistols w/o muffs, etc, not good on the ears.  :-[

I still love all of that, but not without hearing protection now.   ;D ;D

What did you say?  :rotflmao: Running a noisy feed mill for 20 years doesn't do your hearing any good either.

The Concour's muffler is not restrictive.  It might be heavy and big, but it is quiet and it doesn't hurt performance.

Quiet is good :)

Went for a ride this afternoon, but... pollen counts are extremely high, and realized sneezing multiple times in a FF helmet could actually be dangerous, and also messy. Cut the ride short.  ;D ;D   A GREAT WEEKEND TO ALL... Tomp

I like it. Looks good.  8)
Quite is the way to be..

Load pipes saves lives, yeah right the sound doesn't have time to catch up on a concours. Defensive driving keeps you out of trouble.

Around here, drivers pay little attention to emergency vehicles with sirens blaring.  Loud pipes have no effect on garnering the attention of drivers. I see way too much texting happening, while on 55-60 MPH roads.  They aren't paying any attention to anyone or anything but the tiny screen in their faces.

Have to agree that defensive riding is our only way to be somewhat safe, especially in this locale.  tp

Defensive riding is definitely the answer but I LIKE some volume when I twist the wick.

I agree with Mr. Deziner- this is supposed to be a Sport-Tourer bike, not another Old Wing alternative. Let 'er rip once in a awhile and love the beautiful harmony of 1400 cc powah! The stock rocket launcher is way too quiet and laaaarge.

which end did you trim/modify from?
mine was done from the back end, no big job in my opinion, couple hours... its shortened 5". pretty much the total length of the perforated screen area up front removed.
sound nice, quiet at idle and low speed cruising, and just a bit or growl on WFO runs..still not enough to raise any LEO attention.
