Nothing bad. maybe a fractured ankle. Wll be heading to quick care this am to get Xrays.
Here's what happened;
Yesterday, the weather was beautiful here in the Texas Hill Country, so I met up with friends for a day ride. After about 170+ miles we decided to head to a place in town for some eats. Around 8:30pm I left with one of my friends and we headed for home. We were about 5 miles from my place when we slowly exited right to merged onto the main stretch (about 15mph). As I leaned in to the turn to merge, I looked to my left for on coming traffic and didn't notice all of the loose gravel spilled out onto the raodway. Well, needless to say, the bike slipped out from under me and down I went. I slid about maybe 20 feet and my right ankle got caught between the footpeg and the frame. Skinned the knees a little, but nothing bad. My buddy traveling behind me quickly slowed down before he made the same mistake. After getting up I instantly felt the pain in my ankle. Good thing I was only 5 miles from the house. My buddy grabbed the right side hard bag from the middle of the raod that had popped off and stopped traffic for me. We picked up the bike, I got back on and fired that mother right up. I will do a full inspection of the bike today, but so far just appears to be a little scratched up.
I have to say that my riding jacket with all the plastic padding did a great job of protecting the rest of me. My helmet never touched the ground.
The real kicker to the story is when I got home, waiting for me at my doorstep were my newly dilivered MCenterpises front faring guards. I'm more then sure the outcome would have been different with those bars installed.
Mark.....
