Title: Carb hoses
Post by: Bowf on July 30, 2023, 10:41:26 AM
2006 USA model. I've had the carbs and airbox off. Did SISF's airbox reinforcement and fitted overflow tubes to the float bowls.

Feeling quite chuffed, but want to check I have all the hoses on the carbs connected properly before firing the bike up. I've seen photos of other C10 carbs where the hoses seem different from mine.

The yellow tubes just run down the sides of the frame, I've seen this on another thread.

For the vacuum ports on the engine side of the bank, 1 and 4 are connected by a hose which also joins to something above the engine?

3 is capped off, and presumably 2 runs to the petcock?

1&4 join together and connect to the Vacuum Switch Valve (Service Manual Section 4-7 USA & Switzerland only) and to the Evaporative Emission Control System (Service Manual 2-16 California model only)

We don't have those on UK/EU GTR1000s so 1&4 are capped off here.
2 connects to the petcock and 3 is as you say capped off.

The yellow tubes are breathers for the carb bowls.

Thanks for confirming that, Boomer.

I just fired the bike up for the first time since I bought it. It sounds wonderful, and I'm looking forward to riding it again. Just need to get an MOT done.
