As I type this it is raining in West Michigan. January rain in Michigan is as rare as January snow in San Antonio. It sure is welcome.

They use lovely crushed granite in Colorado, along with mag chloride... it's not much fun on a bike.

Ye baby, bring it!!!!!!!!!!!!  I love the snow, even like driving in it.  I may order up a set of studs for the KLR, I wont need them often on this side of the state, but the East side?  Lots of neat places to explore.
I just get cracked up by the reaction we are getting from one-2 inches of snow, I can't wait to see how things turn out if the weatherman is right twice in one week ;D

I will have a sled for the Eastside, it's really hard to justify one on the wetside.

Gotta watch out for these guys when you're out and about.

The second pic is what happens when the deer are too slow.

Sledding is about the only thing I miss from my Minnesnowta days. It's a truly good time.

The winter armageden has arrived, up to 3 inches so far.  Winds are expected to kick up this evening.  I did fill all the gas cans for the generator, between the heavy snow load on the trees and wind I am expecting some power outages, we didnt get a hard freeze so the soil is really soaked.  I anticipate lots of wood free for the cutting.

This is about as dry a snow as I remember this side of the mountains which is a good thing, alot of the snow is being blown out of the trees.  I'm going to put out a bunch of bird seed, should I use rum or tequilla?

We cut those down on Sunday, getting milled up when things thaw out.

Freezing rain is making things nasty, tree branches are drooping more today then yesterday and we are expecting a rapid thaw tomorow.  I sure hope things don't get as nasty as I expect.

Stopped snowing/freezing rain, the wind is here with a vengeance and lots of rain.  The trees are really whipping around and  I'm thinking the worst is yet to come.  Heavy snow fall at my buddies place about 20 miles away, just above the Hood Canal, which means even more wind for him.

Little different here. 60 degrees, heavy rain, small hail, wind and tornado warnings. Feels like April or May.

A whole inch of snow here, so far, for 2012. Will all be washed away tomorrow when it rains.

All told we had about 8 inches of snow here. Got the sleds out on Saturday for a couple of hours and had a blast!

It's foggy and raining now @ 38 degrees.
