Had a little mishap with my bike (struck from behind) and there was some question that the bike would be wiped. That got the thought process going of course and so took a look around. Skipped the FJR (viable but not the equal of a C-14 IMO), skipped all the BMW's (not really looking to store German hardware while they redesign it over and over again- though the K1300GT was a really nice ride), skipped the Oldwing again- great motorcycle but it does not really do it for me and then got stuck on a VFR1200. Pretty motorcycle IMO and a good performer. Lighter than a C-14, little more power and overall excellent performance. Tempting.... very tempting! But they have a lot of drivetrain lash and that just cannot be fixed or addressed in any way I know so.... I ended up right back at the C-14 (OK, after a minor detour on a ZX).
But the '08 isn't scrap yet so it is going to get a work- over this fall / winter. So I guess my next bike is.... the same bike.

I am moving to Tennessee in less than 2 years to retire and if there is a BMW dealer within 50 miles I plan on buying a 1600 GTL. But if Honda ever up's the horse power of the Wing I might get a Wing instead. Also looking at maybe buying a Kawasaki KLX250S if the deal is really good.
