fork oil level change-2008 to 2010?

(1/1)

blackstrom:

How much extra did mother Kaw put in the newer ones?

(yes I tried search) :o

Restless:
Per Fred's videos, 08/09 was 445 ML fluid per fork with the forks compressed at 101 mm when doing the change, the '10+ bikes now take 470 ML fluid per fork with the forks compressed at 93.2 mm when doing a fluid change.   Bottom line, it looks like a 25 ML increase from 08/09 to '10+ models.  I didn't take the time to look at the manual since I don't know what the 08/09 manual says (I have the '10) and strictly went off what Fred says in his video...YMMV.   ;)

25ml.

When I changed my fork oil last month, I put in the 2010 level in my 2008. I had to back down on the rebound damping because it was stiffer (duh). I didn't have a problem with the forks before but wanted to try the new level to see the difference and with the damping adjustment, they feel like they did when new but no better.
