The Bike - C14/GTR 1400 / Re: Fork leak?
« Last post by maxtog on Today at 06:55:49 AM »
Well, my lazy-ass has been using the Seal Doctor every now and then, when the small leaks re-occur.  Over the last few years, the frequency has increased.  So I can't play games anymore.  I am ready to surrender my bike to a local shop I trust to do the seal replacement correctly.  As always, they are weeks backlogged.  Anyway, I have the option of bringing in the parts, which would guarantee the bike isn't captive while waiting for parts, and correct parts are there.  Can someone verify I identified them correctly?

92049-1522 x 2
92093-1480 x 2

The descriptions seem wrong since both say "Seal" and "Fork Outer Tube".  I think the 92093 is the dust cover and the 92049 is the actual oil seal.  Right?  Is there anything else they are likely to need?

I do prefer factory parts on something like this, which carries significant risk/labor.  And I have ordered from Ron Ayers before.  Thanks

Introductions / Hello from eastern Iowa

Hello from eastern Iowa.
I own and ride an '86 c10. The bike was previously owned by my father, from whom I bartered it.
I have owned various older (1970s-1980s) kawis in the past. And being a married with children working fool, I do all my own bike maintenance and repair.
The bike had been sitting dormant since 2018, when i resurrected her about a week before a multiple state cross country ride last summer.

I was confused about this as I had checked the part number on the fiches, but it seems the part number for that bolt changed between the 2008 model and the 2012.
That bolt that holds the link pipe to the frame on the 2008 it is 92153-1930, but on the 2012 is is 92153-1837, so is indeed the same as the brake caliper bolts on the later models.

berna1201 - thanks for the answer - that's it!! I did forget to mention I have a Delkevic exhaust. That went on probably 10 years ago. Since the Delkevic does not have the same bracket as the stock muffler, there is no need for the bolt. I must have left it in just to hold the two bushings in place - I really don't remember. The two bushings were probably also on the trailer floor, but I did recognize them as being part of the same assembly so I ignored them.

Thanks again - I feel better now  :)

Hi Berna,
None of those bolts have that shape head.
The suspension ones you suggest have parallel sides on the head and the exhaust one has a much wider, flatter head than the bolt he shows.
