Damn it's hot
« on: August 28, 2011, 03:01:25 PM »
1600 hrs and it is 109°. Hell, when I came in at 0800 it was 85 and it was 100° by 1100 (maybe even 1000, I just don't remember). Plenty of time in the day, lets see if it hits 110°.

Update, it is now 110° at 1622.

Hey, you aren't one of those guys that cluck a few days after Jan. 1st bragging that while the rest of us are shoveling 6 inches of partly cloudy you are going for a ride?  ;D  75 and sunny right now.

What's your point?  You have a submarine in your avatar.  Are you in a pot of boiling water?

1600 hrs and it is 109°.

We've been lucky, it's been a mild summer here in Northern California. Went on a short 75 mile jaunt with the wife riding pillian today in the SF bay area. Started in the Eastbay where the temperture was around 75*.  8) Drove west across the Dumbarton bridge (hiway 84) into Woodside and then up to Alice's Restaurant for a quick ice tea. Then the rest of the way down to the coast (hiway 1) where the temperture dropped to 55*. Sat outside for lunch then back east across the San Mateo bridge; back to 85* weather. I couldn't imagine doing that in 110* weather.

The low was 84° last night. High today it is supposed to be 106°.

Yesterday was the all time high for the day and it was 1° away from tying the all time high.

Virginia-class? Didn't know you built submarines in San Antonio. (That's ok, they say the same thing to me in Arlington, TX.)

Maybe some of  the low-temp reporting  folks will be parked at times this winter while us in Phoenix and FL will be riding

It was a tad hot yesterday, almost hit 80.  Awesome ride in this morning, a most pleasant 62.  Winterization to me is simply changing riding gear :P

I saw 113 on a bank yesterday as I drove my eldest back to college in my un-air-conditioned F150.   It was brutal.  I took an ice chest full of water and kept a cold wet towel wrapped around my head.  A strange thing that I was not expecting were the number of deer grazing on the shoulder of the road as I came back through the East TX woods last night.

I commute in this heat every workday.  I ride my summer bike.  No tuperware.

Green Genes, like you, I'm lucky to have another bike other than the Concours, I don't like to ride the Concours when it gets above 85 or so, I have an older KZ550A, great for hot weather riding.

Only parked when there is snow or ice on the ground. Lowest temp that I've ridden in was 6º, but it warmed up to 9º later in the day, so it wasn't too bad.  ;D

I'd much rather drive them than build them, although that is still a little tough here in SA  ;)
