Title: Startup Issues
Post by: mcclaskeyj on June 20, 2011, 07:13:08 AM
I just got the PCV tuned by a bike shop a couple weeks ago. The bike was running fine until the summer heat really started to rise out here in FL. One day after work I got on to start Connie up and had to turn the engine over for about 30 seconds until it fired up. At first it was just this once and afterwards Connie would run great.

Now each time I start the engine I have to turn the engine over about the same amount of time and also rotate the throttle open just a little more to get her running. All I have installed is the PCV and a V&H CS One pipe. The bike was tuned and running great before this.  ???

Do any of you have ideas or suggestions of items I might need to check to figure out what's the problem?

Remove the PCV and see if that changes things?  Maybe you have a bad one, would not be the first.

I tried connecting the stock setup (removing the PCV) and it worked fine but would be running a little too lean for comfort. I'm wondering if the startup mixture might need to be adjusted?

How do you know if the PCV is going bad?
