Yikes- $88 for some rubber stickers??  I guess it might be worth it if your bags are already scored/chipped/scratched up (IN ONLY THOSE PLACES) and don't want to fix them.

+1, Max.  Plus they're fugly.

But they are black and new, so I expect someone here who's name starts with Z and ends with G might be buying them.

I think if you only did that top piece it wouldn't look too bad... That seems to be the spot that most hit it with a boot getting on the bike. Plus knowing they peel off real easy and don't leave any residue is a plus...  :-\

I wonder if they'll sell just that piece? I checked their site and they don't have this product listed, seems only on ebay currently...  ???

That never happens to me.  I learned IMMEDIATELY on this bike that you have to mount it while facing the side of the bike.  I put my right leg forward and then over while turning the rest of my body.

True, the rubbers are costly.  :o But you need protection.

I guess I'll send the 2nd set back that I got for you're bike Gumbi...  ;)

I personally don't have much of an issue with it Max, I always mount by standing on the peg first which works well, I've only skimmed mine with the boot a couple times and they always buffed right out.  :)

But when mama or a friend is getting on it I always cringe...  :-\ :(

I have been using techspec for years and love them.  I just bought and installed their snakeskin pads.  They are very nice, but if I did it again, I'd get one of the thinner pads.  I'm have a little trouble getting one of the panels to seal right.  The crotch panel has a lot of subtle angles and it's peeling up a little.  The side panels are friggin' awesome!!  I've put almost 200k with other techspec products and have been more than willing to pay for the better grip.  Don't get the Kawi brand protectors.. they really suck!

I'll be getting the some of the bag panels as well.  Either that or protective clear plastic.  I cannot tell you how many times I have kicked them getting on and off the bike <sigh> I wish they were mat black

I have the full 3M Tankslapper protection on my 2011 C14. Looks great and its clear so you can see the Silver color of the bags.

Weird thing that before I installed the Tankslapper, I was scuffing up the top of the bag getting on and off. Now that I have the Tankslapper, I haven't touched the bags with my boots.

I use the Tankslapper clear film for the bags. Works great and the new style is all one piece. Plus you can't even tell it's there. ~$13.

Edit

This is way closer to my $ range. Thanks Conrad.

Dang it Conrad, that $13 just turned into $62. I had to buy the whole kit.  :)
