Title: Exhaust system
Post by: TheLooneyFlyer on May 05, 2016, 08:39:14 AM
I have just purchased a GTR ZG 1000 (1991 UK J Reg) I am going to be making it into a trike using an adapted swing arm and reliant axle. Before I do that I want to get the bike sorted first. I have been told that changing the carb tops will increase power as some models came restricted, has anyone done this and does it make a noticeable difference ? My other query currently is I wanted to put a Vance and Hines system (but they don't make one) or straight through pipes on what would people recommend on this model ? Thanks in advance.

Get Steve's jet kit for the carbs and forget changing the top caps (no need). Use the stock head pipes and get a set of Delkevic mufflers. You will be amazed at how good the bike will run with Steve's jet kit, and the Delkevic's sound great.

Were the European market bikes limited?  I seem to remember somewhere that the GTR was.
