Hey gang,
I'm getting ready for a trip to Indianapolis from DC and wanted some advice on travel bags. I have a Coocase 48 on the back but I'll need some extra space for clothes and incidentals. I'm looking for something around $100 and water proof/resistant and that fits between me and my top box.

I have a Kury GranTour bag... going on 6 years now. I sprayed it myself to waterproof it... has a built in backrest you can adjust. They run ~ $150 or so now, IIRC. Comes with straps and plate to mount to your seat. One of the best things I bought for 2 wheel traveling.

seriously- look at what you are taking and then evaluate if you really need it or not. You won't need everything you think. I evaluated and reevaluated and still took more than I needed. Should have brought more socks and less shirts. Fit it all in the 2 side cases and a 46L top case with room to spare. One of the side cases held nothing but bike specific gear- rain suit, heavier jacket, first aid kit, tire repair kit, etc.

Try looking around at Army surplus stores. I use a British Army small ruck I traded for during my first trip to Afghanistan. Waterproof and fits perfect.

I can pack for two people camping using just the side bags and a Givi top case. If it were just me (not two up) I could go until I ran out of money without strapping anything extra on.

This is of course, is good advice. However, I'm heading to meet some friends at a conference and I'm expected to bring my share of the goods, thus the need for extra space. If I was just packing for myself, I'd easily have enough room for all my gear.

Pick one of these in whatever size you like. From small to dead hooker size and strap it to the back seat with some Rok Straps.
