Hey all. Had a scare today (second time this has happened). Parked. Went in to pick up a prescription. Came back out. Turned the key, gauges did their thing like normal. Would crank but not start. Shut off, tried again, same thing. Paid attention on third try, and saw no lights on PCIII. Started taking panels off to check wiring but the dealer had over tightened one of the bolts and couldnt get it. Checked all fuses under seat, and the wiring I could get to. Found nothing. Eventually I tried again and the PC lights came on and she fired. Shut it off while I put everything back together and wouldnt start again. Waited. Started. oder to dealer and walked home (as she is in for the leaky VC gasket in my last post.) Anyone had this happen? Dealer immediately said he thinks the PC is bad.

I have heard of trouble with the PC3. Not so much with the 5.

Probably a bad ground. I'd check and make sure it's tight and clean.
-
I'll look again, once the dealer is done trying to explain how it's my problem that my 2nd VC gasket started leaking just after the 24k service... Why is pointing out that my 1987 Toyota has the original valve cover gasket at 155k and doesnt leak NOT helpful to a dealer?

What is your reason for even having a PCIII?

I've had it on since I think November of 2008. Installed with slip on, flies, and BMC. Really woke up the beast!

I'd check the ground. I have mine ground directly to the battery, & to the frame. The PC directions have a pretty lousy ground location. I didn't use that.

I am sure it did, but doing stuff like that can anger the beast too. ;)

I've seen many biks not start w PC's in them, mostly older. My friend had one in his Suzuki and the connectors used to get wet, seems they didn't seal aas well as OEM. Might be worth a look.

That is why I kept mine under the seat of my Strom, not sure that can be done on the C14 though.
