I've found that nothing stays very cool for very long sitting on top of the tank. It just gets so hot up there in the spring/summer when it's hot out already. I'm planning to try a hydration bladder behind me next time....maybe tucked in a duffel on the passenger seat just to try to keep it as far away from the engine heat as possible. Sucking hot water sux!
