Where's the rear hatch?  How do you get the bike inside?  I don't see the point if you can't load it into the vehicle.

I've always wanted a Mobile stabbin' cabin. Have fun with that thing.

Trading Connie for a HD?

 :battle:

Thanks guys (most of you anyways  ;) )

This is my wife's belated birthday present.   :)

Nope, not trading Connie and she's not broke either. Yes, my wife can and will drive the camper and if I want to ride while she drives I can.

As for a toy hauler. That would have been nice but it was out of my price range. If we were gonna do the fulltime RV thing the toy hauler would have been my choice.

Thanks Rhino. I may take you up on that invite. It'll be fun traveling around the country, and Canada, with that mobile hotel room and the bike. I'd love to stop in and see some of you!

Just had to go out to the website and see what the inside looked like. Appears to be a really nice setup. I might want a little larger if I were going to be doing any long-term travel, but I could make it work. I'm sure you'll really enjoy it. Good luck.

They sure seem to be discounting those things off of the MSRP.  :o

From what I've seen from the toy haulers, they just don't seem to be very nice on much of the inside. Kinda Spartan for my taste. I think I'd stick with putting the bike on a trailer.

Nice!  I hope you at least get an enclosed trailer to haul the Connie around.  Just don't get an orange and black trailer.

When we had kids at home we did the camping thing.  Camped in 24 different states.  Great family memories.  Having your home with you is so much better than staying in hotels.

When I retire I would like to do the slide in truck camper and haul my small bikes with me so I can ride dual sport, trials, and back roads.

At first we were looking at something a bit larger than the 21qb (24' long) in the pic above.

We almost bought a 28qb (~31') that was in stock at a local dealer, even put a deposit down on it after looking around the area for a while. After we looked at it a couple of times and took a test drive I told the salesman that I wanted to buy one but not the one he had in stock. There were a bunch of minor cosmetic issues that I didn't like (the damn thing is brand new and it should look like it) plus a few more serious (I thought) issues. But the straw that broke the camel's back was after the test drive. The RV pulled to the right BIG time. I had to hold the wheel to the left about 20 degrees just to go straight and if I let go of the wheel it was heading for the ditch on the right. I told my salesman this over the phone (longer story) and he had a fit. I'm serious! The guy came unhinged and told me that I was WAY too picky and that I wasn't buying a $100k RV after all! Then he told me that he was going to quit his job because of me! We argued back and forth a bit with my wife hearing everything being said. She told me to tell him to :censored: off and to hang up on him. I told him that I wanted my deposit back ASAP and as I was hanging up on his ass he said something about having his manager call me to straighten things out. Later that day I get a call from the dealership, I'm thinking that it's the manager calling to 'straighten everything out', as if. It's the dickhead salesman again. He tells me that I have three options. I tell him that any options that I have won't be with him or his dealership and when can I expect my deposit to be returned? Two days later I get another call from this dealership. This time it's the owner, oh boy, this should be fun. He wants to know what happened and I said to ask your salesman. He wants to know my side of it and I tell him. As it turns out the salesman had only been there for three months. I have a feeling that was the extent of his employment there.  My deposit was returned the next day.

After the ordeal above we decided that we wanted a smaller RV and settled on the 21qb. Since it's just my wife and I, plus 3 dogs, the 21 is large enough.

The pics above aren't from the dealer we're buying from but the pricing is similar. We got a good price on a factory fresh unit from http://www.generalrv.com/locations/white-lake-michigan

They're even delivering the RV to our door.  :)

It could have been worse, Conrad. He could have gotten verbally abusive with your wife. We would've had to start one of those "Go Fund Me" pages to bail you out....

Hey, nice Conrad, congrats! Looks like a great way to extend 'motorcycle' trips; that is a nice combo. to tour with I think.

Best of luck with it and let me know if / when you people travel east....

I bought a MC trailer last year but I haven't used it yet, it's not enclosed and there's no orange in sight.

We've been camping for years and had some great times with the kids back in the day. Started with tents then a pop-up (I gave this to my oldest son and he still uses it) followed by a 5th wheel (still have this but now it's more like a cabin in the woods up north). Now it's just the two of us and maybe a grandson once in a while.

Thanks! We'll see the stars just fine while sitting around the campfire with an adult beverage in our hands.   :)
