Post by: Stubby on September 09, 2012, 08:21:11 PM
Having only one free weekend in Sept. the GF and I decided to take a trip around Hwy 12 here in UT. Now I know plenty of people here have been around this road but I have never so thanks for putting up with me.

Coming in from the Bryce side

Stopped in Escalante for the night and had one of the best pizza's from a outfitters shop I have ever had.

I think this bike of mine is about to have a new owner.

In the town of Boulder there is a little road called the Burr trail it goes all the way to Lake Powell ( most of it is paved a small part is not ) but the first 16 miles is so drop dead sweet you have to ride it to believe it. If you are this far its well worth the 35 miles Rnd trip for this part of the road.

The road were about to go up

There is even a small slot canyon on the side you can take a walk up if you want to.

On the way to Torry

I was down that way on Monday, but the storms that flooded Las Vegas we're headed right towards me so I bailed on the area and went north.  I'll add it to my list for the next time I'm down that way, thanks!

I did discover 191 from Vernal Utah to Rock Springs Wyoming, through the Flaming Gorge.  That's definitely one that everybody should put on their bucket list.  The last 50 miles or so on the northern side is typical boring Wyoming desert, but the rest was absolutely fantastic!
