Decent price on brake pads

Got a decent, not necessarily great, price on EBC HH pads.  Two sets of fronts and a set of rears for $118.00 delivered.

Yea, but then you're stuck with noisy EBC pads

I just did new pads, all around, and went with the gen2 Kawasaki pads.  Ended up spending $143.94.

If I'd have found a comparable price on OEM pads, I'd have gone with them.  I've used EBCs for a while and, yes, they're a little noisy sometimes, but I like the feel.  Got ~40K on the bike and seem to be going through front pads about every 12K.  I bought the bike with about 4000 miles on it and haven't had to change the rear pads yet.

I get about the same from my front pads. My rear seems not to be wearing. I asked the dealer to re-bleed the rear. I am not sure if they are working that well. I am going to re-bleed them this spring

I am at 33,000+ miles and still on the original, first set.

Riding style is going to dramatically affect pad life.  I assume to get 33k you're not doing a lot of braking...  Distance touring, perhaps.

I changed my pads out at 14,505 miles because they didn't have enough meat left to get me through another riding season.

I don't do a lot of long distance.  But I don't brake really hard a lot, either.... most of the time a relaxed style.  I also weigh probably 50+lbs less than typical, although I can't imagine that would make much difference.

Would be interesting to have a poll to see typical pad life.

Replaced all bleeders with speed bleeders and changed all the hydraulic fluids this weekend.  Clutch and front brake looked fine.  Rear brake fluid was nasty.

I just score 2 sets of fronts for $35 each. new old stock on ebay. But the fronts can be found for $42 on ebay. I go through a set of fronts about every 3 years or 35k ish miles. Ive never changed the rear. Probably the original with 62k miles on them.

I don't care if they make noise. If I want quiet I'll buy and Buick.
