WHY would you do that to yourself.....just something else to obsess over.

If the oil pressure goes bad - you'll know. The engine will sned up a very distinct 'smoke signal' :yikes:

Why didn't I think of that. Why, I don't know why we have any gauges at all. I mean if you run out of gas you'll know. You don't need a gauge for that. Or if your radiator boils over you'll certainly know that. Why do you need a gauge for that. If your battery dies it'll either be the battery or the charging system. You can figure it out, no need for a gauge. ::)

Yup, that "why do you need it?" is pretty much the response I got when I brought it up a year or so ago:-) And that is kinda amusing, 'cos our Friend Furbo just got done remarking how reliable the Connie was :-)

No offense meant, Furbo :-)

Keep in mind that there are several ways to skin the cat and that this is my way; feel free to improvise as needed....

Order part number 57001-1188 from Mamma K first.... It is a brass oil pressure gauge adapter as used by their service dept, but it has it's own special thread and fits to the left side of the engine oil pressure log. I cut off the small special threaded end and drilled and tapped it out to 1/8" pipe threads. From there I simply acquired the needed fittings, hose and gauge. My gauge is mounted nearest to my left knee and once riding/moving I do not look at it....

I'll post pictures later...

Looks cool. I need to do it. Do you have any closeups of the fitting itself?

Sorry no.... You could also drill & tap the alum gallery plug in the left side of the motor to 1/8" NPT but I've had issues with splitting while tighting up the pipe fitting on an old Honda cap, this is why I recommend ordering the adapter from Kawasaki as it is made of brass and is more robust.

Cool Tony - so what were you seeing for pressure readings? hot / cold, idle, full pressure at X rpm... Steve

Haven't a clue..... Rarely look at it anymore and plum forget what it read; only recall that once warmed up that it's a lot less than expected namely at idle....
