Title: Restricted Sales to Govt Agencies
Post by: Walker18 on February 22, 2013, 07:40:54 PM
Firearms Companies Restricting Sales To GOVERNMENT
Agencies In Areas That Restrict Gun Rights

A growing number of firearm and firearm-related companies have stated they will no longer sell items to states, counties, cities and municipalities that restrict their citizens' rights to own them.

According to The Police Loophole, 34 companies have joined in publicly stating that governments who seek to restrict ND Amendment rights will themselves be restricted from purchasing the items they seek to limit or ban.

Extreme Firepower Inc., located in In wood, WV has had a longstanding policy that states:

"The Federal Government and several states have enacted gun control laws that restrict the public from owning and possessing certain types of firearms...If a product that we manufacture is not legal for a private citizen to own in a jurisdiction, we will not sell that product to a law-enforcement agency in that jurisdiction."

York Arms, located in Burton, ME released a statement following new legislation in New York:

"Based on the recent legislation in New York, we are prohibited from selling rifles and receivers to residents of New York.  We have chosen to extend that prohibition to all governmental agencies associated with or located within New York."

Quality Arms, located in Rugby, ID writes on their website, "elected officials have their own agenda to circumnavigate the truth and destroy the constitution of the United States."

The site states: "Quality Arms Idaho will not supply and firearm or product, manufactured by us, or any other company nor will we warranty, repair, alter, or modify and firearm owned by any State, County or Municipality who infringes on the right of its citizens to bear arms under the ND Amendment."

Bravo Company USA states:

"The people at Bravo Company USA and BC support responsible private individuals having access to the same tools of civilian Law Enforcement to affect the same ends...As such Bravo Company's policy is that law enforcement officials and departments will be restricted to the same type of products available to responsible private individuals of that same city or state."

Based on what I'm reading on the uptick on sales, I don't think that's going to be a problem for them.

I read somewhere that Barrett did that with the state of California when they outlawed 50 BMG rifles.

If sales to citizens are outlawed and they refuse to sell to LEOs, who do they sell to?

To people and places where they do not have those restrictions.

This shouldn't be a problem for LEOs, they can just trade seized drugs to criminals for guns. The criminals always seem to be able to get guns. This will also create increased drug chasing work for the LEOs. Everybody wins.

They can also buy them through the Feds' Fast and Furious program.

If the ban to citizens goes through FEDGOV it's a country wide ban and that would mean they have NO ONE to sell to.
Refuse to sell to LEOs and that means Tango Uniform.

I really think that while a noble stance, most if not all of the businesses that are doing this are not losing any business.

Do you really think that the feds are buying from the smaller gun stores?  Except maybe in the smaller communities, my guess is that this isn't having any effect.

It's my opinion, that they're doing this for the attention, and to be able to say that they are "sticking it to the man", however the man hasn't even noticed.

you're probably correct, but "resistance" starts small, often with just one person who is "mad as hell, and ain't gonna take it any more". Steve

Unfortunately the resistance accomplishes the Left's goal. It puts the manufacturers out of business.

Well its about damn time. Now, all the companies in states that have draconian and restrictive laws, most notably Kimber in NY, that manufacture in those states need to MOVE, harder I know, but the hand writings on the wall, I'm sure that states will line up to get those jobs and tax revenue those jobs and sales would create, I know ohio would in a heart beat.

Our new fire truck has a huge tank for it. In the summer when the engine gets hot, the exhaust gets hot, it smells like a hobo has camped out under the truck.
