« on: May 11, 2011, 04:37:09 PM »

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Hi all.  Relatively new to this forum, just purchased a new 2010 ABS this past January & was following the ECU reflash threads closely, then the forum crashed.  Like you, hoping some of that good info can be retrieved!

And I was really interested in their posts here.  Especially for my 08.

I recall someone posting about having their reflash for a 200RPM sooner opening on the flies.  That doesn't seem worth it.

For me it might...
The bike comes "pig rich" the reflash cleans all that up. It is supposed to smooth ( the already smooth) throttle response
and torque curve .Sounds like a winner for 2 up . :chugbeer:
The 200RPM earlier was what Joe has in the reflash map he will adjust that to your likes

From correspondence I had with Joe :

We can sure open the plates sooner, no problems.

We do do most of the BMW and other Euro bikes, including all the 2010 ducati's, BMW's, and Aprilias

Gents,
Joe is just down the road in New Braunfels. He stated that the ECU would be turned around in 24hrs. Bottom line: He will map it however you want it to be mapped "customer is always right", however he has the optimized map that he has built through his Dyno. Unknown what modifications were on the bike he used.

$400 bones to get it done for the '08/ '09s. I look to get it done after I replace the more important tires.

Some of the info from the old site is still available. Follow this link.

Look for the cached link at the end of the URL. It's a pain but what you're looking for might be there.

I might have missed this in the old thread, Does the ECU have separate maps for each gear like the PCV?

Seperate maps only on the '10 and above from what I understand.

yes they do! 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 are all different timing curves. The lower two sets are far to mild for the way this bike should run

I was hoping we will see some imperical data back on flies in / flies out / open flies earlier / reflash discussion....... It was an intersting discussion for me that based on the gracious position of "the customer is always right", we can get to the best overall solution without pulling flies.

I have a ATRE, timing retard elimator.  It's about $150.  You have a choice of maps.  I run the top gear map so the flys open using the top gear map in all the gears.  You have choices of which gear map to use.  It also eliminates the top speed shut off.  You can feel the difference in the 60 to 85 MPR range.  More torque.  Fred's site shows how to install.  If you don't like it you can remove it in about 20 minutes.  Rick
